24k Retrievers

ABOUT 24 K..... ▪︎ The name refers to the owners' breed, Golden Retrievers. (Any breed or mix can attend NADD event, however.) ▪︎ Co-owner Destiny runs her dock events with the highest level of efficiency. ▪︎ The signage here is second to none; yet, it is not overdone. It is just right, and much appreciated. Although there are separate Enter and Exit ramps at this dock, they are on the same side of the dock. There are designated lanes to and and from each, which helps tremendously to keep excited dogs from crossing paths. ▪︎ Destiny clearly communicates the rules for her facility. I imagine that she is stickler about enforcing them; but, the Handlers and visitors here all seem to be careful to abide by them. ▪︎ The parking lot is all grass and Handlers with Disabled Parking Permits have their own designated section, which is the closest to the walk-through opening. ▪︎ Even the porta-potty is conveniently located, not an insignificant detail when going back and forth repeatedly with three dogs each doing multiple stints on the dock each day. There even is an outdoor sink and counter with liquid soap, DEFINITELY a useful item when a certain Handler you know manages to get dog poop under her fingernails when picking up after one of her three competitors. ▪︎ The facility is beautiful and immaculately maintained. ▪︎ There always is a food truck here and their food is excellent. They have a favorite item in most people's view - a cold Mangonado that truly is unbelievably delicious. ▪︎ Lastly, there is only ONE factor I wish were different here... No RVs are allowed, not even for the day nor dry camping overnight. So, I pack up my ice packs and put my bottled water and LaCroix cans into my new cooler backpack instead of having a handy fridge and a freezer full of ice pops that I like not only for myself; but, I also like offering them to others. Of course, other paraphernalia of the sport must be relocated from the RV and house, and I usually forget something.
