A Bark Idea

We recently moved to the west coast. One of the things we were most nervous about was finding a new daycare for our Australian Shepherd, Tuwa. Thankfully we found A Bark Idea! I first heard about them online and the moment I learned it was run by certified positive reinforcement trainers, I had to reach out to them. This was really important to me especially after we had a bad experience at another local place where we saw dogs being punished for healthy play 😖 Since Tuwa’s first temperament test, she has stayed a few times for overnights. We never worry when she is there and are so thankful for their picture updates and how accommodating they are with our requests (giving Tuwa medicine, special sleeping arrangements, etc) We can tell how much they love the dogs and Tuwa definitely loves them back. In fact, any time we’re there to drop her off, she scratches at the door because she’s so excited to be let in. One last note — daycare here is definitely more expensive than we’ve seen at other places BUT it is SO WORTH IT for us to know Tuwa is well taken care of. We don’t even live close by but we are willing to drive through LA traffic just so she can go to daycare here. Thanks for taking care of her! 🤍

Absolutely loved leaving my fur baby Kona with the dream team at A Bark Idea. I was away for four nights and this was the first time I decided to board Kona. From the first day she was so comfortable with Kelsey and loved all the attention and playtime. Her first site was rough, but with a lot of care from Cami she finally relaxed. It was so nice to receive personal texts from the team with updates, photos and videos during kona's stay. Honestly the best decision to leave her with the ladies at A Bark Idea. Kona be returning again!

Happy pup! Happy pup parents! A Bark Idea has been EXACTLY what we needed for our 1-year-old chocolate lab, Shane. We joined the Happy Puppy School at A Bark Idea to train Shane on leash/walking skills, meet and greet without jumping, and coming when called, and socializing with humans and other dogs. Cami and Kelsey have been excellent and positive trainers, and we’ve seen amazing results. They are very responsive to our priorities, patient with Shane and our family as we learned, and generous with their personalized attention including videos of Shane’s training so that we could reinforce the skills at home. As first-time dog parents, we were nervous about leaving Shane for daycare and weekend boarding. Cami’s unique approach, excellent team, and beautiful space put our minds at ease. She carefully screens dogs for temperament and fit before acceptance, so we didn’t have to worry about aggression or poor behavior. A Bark Idea a small, boutique, home-like environment with multiple indoor/outdoor areas allocated for the dogs to train, play, exercise, rest, and take breaks/time outs. Clean, comfortable, safe, attentive, and very loving – A Bark Idea is worth every penny and has truly become Shane’s home away from home.

I’m not sure who loves A Bark Idea more, myself or my dog, Frankie. We first came to Cami for a private training session when Frankie was a puppy. She was SO helpful in answering our questions and just pointing out his body language to help us understand our new puppy better. We IMMEDIATELY saw a change the night we got back from training. Frankie has also gone in for daycare and LOVES it. They don’t have cameras but they do provide some photos throughout the day. I can tell by Frankie’s reaction when we park that he wishes he was a regular. Although we live in Long Beach, we do the drive because they are worth it! If you have a new puppy, this is the place to go. The dogs that are there are so great and help better socialize your new pup. Frankie wouldn’t be as great with dogs if it wasn’t for A Bark Idea.

A Bark Idea is amazing!!! Cannot say enough great things about this wonderful doggy daycare/boarding. Cami is such a gem! We were nervous to leave our dog overnight for the first time but we felt so much comfort knowing she was in such great hands. Our dog absolutely loves Cami and has such a blast playing with all the other dogs! The photo updates Cami sends speak for themselves- we've never seen our dog look so happy! If you're looking for a boutique daycare where you know your dog will get plenty of attention and affection, this is the place for you!
