We love A Canine Experience! Our dog first enrolled in their day training program, and eventually graduated to group training classes, and now participates in agility classes. Seeing her blossom into a well behaved, agile little girl has been a wonderful experience, and we couldn’t have done it without the awesome Canine Experience team! They are a wealth of knowledge not only in training, but overall wellness for dogs. We even changed our dogs diet thanks to their recommendation, which has allowed her to trim some excessive weight, have more energy, and maintain a shiny, healthy coat. Highly, highly recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about these wonderful dog trainers. I work with many of them, Andrea, Autumn, Trina, and the rest at some point. I have a nervous/anxious guardian bred, Cane Corso, that I gained as a rescue. If she knows you and loves you she’s the best, but if she doesn’t know you she is scared, anxious, curious and all that can lead to aggressive. I’ve been working with the trainers here for about 7 months and while our journey isn’t over I can already see my dog being more confident and less anxious, she’s trusting me more and allowing me to handle most situations before she barks and gets all excited/nervous. I’ve been so happy with the results and I know the bond with me and my dog is better for it. I should note they use very gentle approaches to dealing with nervous dogs, while we still use a prong collar they are very slow to touch or correct. It was multi sessions before my dog was like ready for pets and we waited for her to be ready to take commands or receive pets. (My previous trainer went in straight away with correcting my dog and she never trusted him, she was visibly scared every time we worked together.) When she comes to A Canine Experience she’s excited to be there, she jumps up on some trainers she loves, which we are trying to correct, but it warms my heart to know that not only is she safe, she feels safe and has fun here too.

I brought my dog in for a 3 week board and train program. I chose them because of their good rating. My dog is a large breed, and wasn't well socialized, so she would pull me when she saw other dogs on our walks. I mostly wanted her socialized, but figured she would also be tightened up on her obedience skills. This was a big decision for me, sending her away and the $$$, but I felt desperate. There was barely any communication during her stay, but I trusted the process. When I picked her up 3 weeks later, there was barely any change in her. I was overwhelmed with frustration, given all of that time and money. I was offered a private follow up, but I felt so upset because we were starting basically at ground zero, that I declined. I have tried multiple times to resolve this privately, because I know it is difficult to run a small business, but there were no satisfactory results. I honestly don't know if I am a one off, it is possible but I find it odd that almost every single rating is 5 star on this site. My experience was far from 5 star.

When we discovered this place we were not sure we could keep our dog due to her high anxiety and all of the issues that come along with that. She has taken a long time to come around and has made very slow progress but it's obvious how much this training has continued to help her and to help us manage her better. All of the trainers are firm but also sensitive to what each dog needs. Anyone who comes here who is committed to helping their dog can be helped. Or, if your dog is great right out of the box, they will come up with all kinds of enriching activities for them.
