Above the Standard Dog Training

I cannot recommend Above the Standard Dog Training enough! They are truly exceptional in their dedication to all dogs, but in my case, rescue dogs, providing them with the training they need to find loving homes. My dog Scooby was a rescue that the Above the Standard team took in, trained him, and advertised him for adoption. Scooby is a testament to their expertise. Thanks to their guidance, Scooby has become the best companion imaginable and incredibly well-behaved. Everyone on the team is awesome. Emily, Jay, Jen, and Jim are the most kind hearted people and super talented at what they do! Even though they moved from New Jersey to Florida, all of my future dogs will come from or go through their training. If I could give them 10 stars instead of 5, I would! The team behind ASDT is inspirational. My family was blessed to adopt our dog Balli from this incredible organization. Balli was a stray, that was found with a shotgun wound to his face. Above all odds, Jen, Jay, Emily, Jim, and the rest of the team nursed him back to health and spent countless hours training this amazing survivor. Jen obviously poured her heart-and-soul into caring for and training Balli. During Balli's board-and-train, I received daily updates and videos on his progress - which was AMAZING! Jay drove Balli 1,000 miles from FL to our home and spent several hours introducing and training us how to care for Balli. He has been an unbelievable addition to our family. If you are looking to adopt or need top-of-the-line training for your dog - trust these folks. You won't regret it!!!

Was it pure luck, tireless internet searching or divine intervention that I found these AMAZING people. I have used them to board my dog before I got a service dog through them. My boy can be a little “special” at times and I don’t like leaving him with just anyone. Let me tell you his first stay with them was like he knew them forever. He was so comfortable with them which eased my mind. Emily, Jen, Jim and Jay are fantastic human beings and even better dog trainers! They had my girl Shuri from birth until about 8-9 months old and you would have thought they had her for YEARS. First her genetics are stellar. Personality THE BEST. On top of that she is the smartest and most attentive girl. I often forget she’s a year old and most people don’t believe me when I tell them. They put in countless hours of training to make sure she was ready to go home. When I took her home I was given lessons on what to keep up with and how to keep working with her. When I have any questions they are always more than happy to answer them. I truly believe this was the best thing to happen to my life, meeting these people!

This team absolutely changed my life. I had been looking for a service dog for close to if not over a year when I came across them and thank god I did. From the start their customer service has been absolutely incredible, answering any and all questions will full transparency. One of my favorite things is that they post everything on Instagram so you can really get a sense of how they train their service dogs as well as the breeding process too! I loved following along with my Baloo before finally getting to meet and take him home. And the care didn’t stop there. Emily, Jay, Jen and Jim always want to make sure that you are comfortable and confident handling your dog. Any little hiccup I run into they are at the ready with troubleshooting and guidance. You can go to any ole service dog program and get a cookie cutter dog or you can go to Above The Standard and be paired with a dog you can’t help but feel like was bred just for you. 5 stars isn’t enough!!! I know when the time comes and my boy has to retire, I will never look anywhere but Above The Standard for another service dog!
