We couldn't recommend Kristen enough. We adopted a younger dog whose history we didn't know anything about as she was brought in as a stray. Though she was friendly towards us, our dog acted aggressively towards other people and other dogs. As we were trying to get her used to life outside the kennel, her reactivity was admittedly a little overwhelming. But then we found Kristen. Kristen identified what "triggered" our dog right away and showed us ways to positively address it through reward instead of punishment. She walked us through how to work with her the right way, basically training us instead of training the dog, which is exactly what we needed. She provided notes to continue our training at home. A year later, she is a transformed dog. We couldn't bring friends to our house for a while after getting her for fear she would hurt someone. Now, having used Kristen's training methods for about a year, our dog quickly warms up to strangers. We can enjoy walks without fear of an embarrassing display of a dog-gone-crazy. We just returned to Advances in Animal Behavior to get some more training for vet visits, and can't wait to put Kristen's training into practice. She is an outstanding trainer with decades of experience and we can't thank her enough for what she has done to help my husband, me and our pup.
