Zorro is a big 2-year-old Siberian Husky, who began working with Avi Kornblum, from Affordable Compassionate Dog Training, about three weeks ago. Upon meeting us, Avi noticed that the harness and leash combination we were using was counterproductive to our goal, as it facilitated his pulling, and was exactly wrong for a husky. After changing the harness and leash and learning the right commands, Zorro responded well. He is learning not to bolt out the door without permission, to leave calmly, and is starting to walk more easily without pulling. As his parents, we are learning how to teach him to heel, and he is happy to receive praise for a job well done. Our decision to use Avi came from reading his profile, so we knew he was experienced with our type of dog. We could not use just anybody, because huskies are instinctively different than other dogs. We found out that we needed to be trained first before the dog could be directed. Words have specific meaning to the dog, for example, come and let’s go are not the same and produce different results in the dog. We are looking forward to the day we can walk him around other animals with him paying attention to us and not to them. Good job Avi!!!! We thank you and Zorro thanks you!!!

After doing lots of research for a dog training company that would be reasonably priced and would be a “at home” training program. I found affordable compassionate dog training. From day one Avi made it clear of the methods he uses and his philosophy and it was exactly what I was looking for. Posie a Jack terrier Russel puppy has been doing an amazing job these past couple of weeks. Avi has taught me how to connect with her and teach her. If anything he is training me to be the best for her (lol). I love that he’s able to come to your location and do the trainings in a setting that is everyday life for her. Not some boarding school. Definitely recommend him!

Avi has been extremely helpful to my husband and I with dog training Jamie, our mini Bernedoodle, who is 4 months old and has common struggles with biting, separation anxiety, leash pulling, and overstimulation. We are happy that we found him and he has taught us so much about how to react in stressful situations and help us guide our puppy in his learning. Avi has built a great connection with Jamie. He's shown us how intelligent our little guy is and what he needs most from us. We have seen the growth in Jamie. In our sessions, now we see him thinking and making good decisions which makes us extremely proud and grateful that we have Avi's training. He's helped us understand that we both have to be on the same page with Jamie and provide rules and boundaries but that we can enjoy training him and also make sure that we let Jamie know when he is making good choices. Jamie's confidence has grown so much throughout. Avi has also given us great recommendations for toys and tools to use at home when we practice our homework exercises. Avi is a great communicator and teacher. He explains things in an easy way and we feel comfortable asking him all the questions we have. If you’re looking for someone who cares for your dog and family's best well being, I highly recommend Avi for your dog training needs. We’re really grateful for him and will always remember the wonderful learnings he has shared with us.

Avi is an amazing soul!! He cares deeply for these babies and helps anyway he can for the benefit of your dog!! If they had 10 🌟 he would get that because he deserves more!! Rescued 12 lbs shorkie appeared to have a long road to his forever home until he showed up! Within minutes he was able to find Sitches potential and assess the best path forward after their session. Asking for a dog trainer usually means you’re worried and a bit concerned it’s comforting to find someone that shows up on time, keeps you and the dog calm to the point the dog full potential blossoms in a short session is priceless! This compassionate man also does amazing work with other rescues and for this other reason is why you should chose him - then it’s the affordability. Win win win, dog trainer, affordable and works with rescue organizations should make this choice a no brainer! Don’t waste your time with others this is your guy!
