Affordable Dog and Puppy Training

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Lisa and Affordable Dog Training! This was my first time taking a dog training class, and I honestly didn’t know how much of a difference it would make—not only for my little man Bodhi, but for me as well. Lisa helped Bodhi and me build confidence, learn the basics, and progress into more advanced training. Because of the skills and confidence we gained, I’m now able to take my best friend with me on so many more adventures. We can go out to restaurants, attend community events, and even enjoy special events like the Rainier’s Dog Park Days. It has opened up a whole new world for both of us. One of the things I really love about Affordable Dog Training is that they have you covered from basic obedience all the way through advanced training. You can continue adding classes for as long as you want, giving you and your dog the opportunity to keep learning and growing together. It’s also a great way to regularly introduce your dog to new people and other dogs in a safe and positive environment. For me, this class has been one of the best things I could have done for Bodhi—and for our relationship. I’m so grateful for all the patience, guidance, encouragement, and hard work Lisa has given us. Thank you so very much, Lisa, for helping my little man become more confident and helping me become a more confident dog owner. Lisa has been amazing with Rosie! I honestly feel like she has trained me just as much as she’s trained Rosie. She taught me how to better understand Rosie and how to communicate with her in a way that makes training much easier. Rosie has made incredible progress and has truly become a well behaved member of our family. She no longer jumps on people, walks so much better, and has even learned to safely run alongside my bike. She’s still a puppy and has things to work on, but she’s eager to learn and has a great foundation. If you’re looking for someone who truly understands dogs, Lisa is the one. She knows her stuff and gives owners the tools and confidence to continue their dog’s success at home. I highly recommend her!

I have two dogs, one is small, in charge and somewhat neurotic. The other is huge, anxious, and somewhat stubborn. I love them both so much. But fellow dog walkers and neighbors were starting to show some doubts, as my two dogs continued to enthusiastically "protect" myself, my husband, my parents, my house, and the neighbor's houses from, well, the neighbors, the neighbor's dog's, all types of vacuum cleaners, any running water, and people wearing hats. Thanks goodness for Lisa. In two lessons, my family was able to stop holding our breath in the face running water, or strangers in hats. My husband and I learned to heal two very strong dogs on a very loose leash without fearing for the safety of other people, dogs or vacuum cleaners. Lisa is no no nonsense, practical, and far more patient than we deserved. I cannot express enough my gratitude to Lisa and her compassionate, skilled approach to dog training. I keep telling her she should charge more money because her prices are so reasonable, and so long as we keep up the work on our end, only a few sessions were necessary to help us achieve safety and sanity. Fortunately, Lisa cares far more about dogs than she does about money. I recommend Lisa and her training highly and gratefully.

My dog was impeccably behaved until she got her first heat and was fixed. Then she became very reactive. She was flipping on her leash trying to get at dogs 50 feet away on walks. Having never dealt with reaction before, I reached out to Lisa. She got me in promptly and educated me on dog language and how to get my dog to respect me and respond. After an hour, my dog wasn’t the same. I took my dog for a walk today, utilizing the instruction I was given yesterday, we had an incredibly successful walk. She still needs a bit more practice (as do I). But the results are there! Highly recommend.

I just completed the 4 week beginning class with my 1 yo Malinois and am definitely very happy with the results. Lisa takes the time to address each dogs "potential problems" and how we as the owners can work with said problems to achieve maximum results. Lisa has a professional and no BS approach and tells it how it is. Very helpful. I highly recommend this trainer and am in fact going to do private lessons while we wait for the intermediate class.
