Leonard saved our dog! We got our one year old Cattle dog cross from the pound and after some time aggressive behavior started to show. Defensive of the home, charging at dogs in the street, snapping of her mouth at anything. After just the consultation there was a dramatic shift in her temperament. We then went on to complete four sessions of one and a half hours each where Leonard showed us how to have a right relationship with our dog, calming her disposition and allowing the real obedience training work to begin. We can not thank Leonard enough for his service and will continue to recommend him to friends.

It took me a minute to write this review because, it takes a minute to fully understand the experience of working with Leonard and the after, and put words onto it. My dog has been reactive with other dogs ever since she was a tiny puppy, and was starting to become really agressive, dominant and bit a couple dogs pretty bad, and was even over protective of me with some people in certain situation. It was affecting my life and my sanity. I tried every possible way and worked with different trainers which were great, the truth is now that I think of it, some of them were trying to teach me some of the same stuff Leonard taught me but the understanding of it wouldn’t get to me, they knew what they were doing but did not know how to transmit the message to someone who doesn’t understand. So I kept on making the same mistakes until I had lost control and was hiding to take my dog out and making it even worst. Leonard has a straight forward way to work with you and your dog but really mostly with you, that gives you no other way than understanding through doing, he is a NO EXCUSE type of guy and that is the best way to learn what you need with reactive and aggressive dogs. I went there and just chose to trust him and take his full guidance. He works with body language with the dog but also with you. He pointed at my weaknesses and made me address them, it all gave me a lot of confidence even in everyday life and the way I approach other life situations too. I thought I had a great relationship with my dog, but he showed me that it wasn’t the case, and that outside of love there wasn’t respect, and when you have an animal like those, you need to start with a 100% respect from them to you in every situation. You HAVE to be the leader and then you can be the mum, but always a leader first and Leonard teaches you how to do so. We did 5 private sessions, and people in my everyday life noticed right away how much she had changed throughout the process, not even knowing about the training I was doing. We are both different and are both happier in our life and we are so grateful for that. Is she completely non reactive, no, because that’s a long time work and Leonard gave us the tools to continue this work. But she’s made massive progress and keep making progress every day, and I’m confident and knowing exactly how to stay calm and do the right things and make the right decisions for us to have a good experience. Thank you so much Leonard for the peace of mind, the honesty, the knowledge and the massive CHANGE you did to our life. Sometimes when friends are struggling with their dogs they ask me for help and since my experience with Leonard, those dogs respond to me in a very different way, I know how to lead them and show them they have to respect me, it is such a powerful feeling. I reached out to Leonard by email and explained my situation with my dog Bolt (a 2.5 year old chihuahua terrier mix). I had an aggressive situation on my hands - excessive barking, lunging, leash pulling, growling, some biting. Leonard took an hour on the phone with me and clearly explained how I take control back of my household and establish myself as the pack leader. This conversation took place Friday. Today is Tuesday (only 4 days later) and I have already seen immense progress with Bolt. He now has rules and boundaries and much more consistency. I highly recommend Leonard (Dominant Dogs) boot camp for many reasons but there are few that rise to the top. We can’t thank him enough for helping our 20-month old Cavapoo and our family. First, he is extremely honest, diligent, empathetic, and communicative. From the beginning, he he listened to all of us in our family about our experiences with our pup. His attention to ensuring my son was part of the process really made big difference in the success we experienced. And, you can tell immediately his ability to connect with and understand dogs. Second, his skills, knowledge and expertise are unmatched. He took the time to get to really get to know our pup and connect with us daily so we were fully engaged and learning while our pup was with him. We saw a tremendous difference as soon as we took him home - in many ways he was like a different dog. Still the dog we love so much, but much more calm, attentive, and recognized we were in charge. Third, he cares. He truly cares about our family and our dog. It is amazing to see my son walk our pup now. Our pup is not only calm, but also so caretaking and attentive. We are continuing to learn new tools (we got the lifetime package and highly recommend!), like to play ball, and Leonard is with us every step of the way. We love our pup so much and are grateful for Leonard for helping our family! Don’t hesitate to set up a session. It was the best decision we made.

Shiba Inu owners….. please definitely read this is you’re seeking training for your precious pup! I have a 1-year old Shiba who I socialized since day one. She loves dogs and kids, tolerant of noises and is well-trained with basic commands from many trainers…. Until she turned one. She was in daycamp for two days a week and began picking up habits – resource guarding, snapping at dogs entering the room – until an incident happened. After extensive research I connected with Leonard. This is not your ordinary trainer – and it’s not ordinary bootcamp training which I find harsh and disconnected. His training is not for basic commands – it’s for developing a relationship with your dog - and for teaching the owner how to be the alpha. He puts 3 intensive weeks with you dog – and endless hours into working with the dog owner to shift your pup into one who connects with you without spoken commands. It’s difficult to describe his style - and how the relationship is shifting with my Shiba – it’s connected, filled with respect and love. But note that you must put 100% into this as well to learn from Leonard how to interact with your pup. That part is challenging for me, but every day is getting better! Big bonus is that Leonard only works with a small number of dogs at a time - and they stay in his home (as opposed to bootcamps which only take a dog out of a crate a few times a day). He has a process that I’ve witnessed when the other aggressive dogs he’s working with are brought to training sessions. I’m in awe seeing how they transform. And the positive changes in my Shiba are extraordinary. Even my dog’s massive fear of storm drains – now it’s no big deal – she jumps over them! That was resolved within a few days of training. I plan on loving my dog for many, many years – and this is the best money I could have ever spent to help me develop this unspoken connection with her and resolve her aggressive tendencies. I could go on raving. For Shiba Inus (especially the way they respond to training) and any aggressive dog – this is exactly the place to be.
