Albree Dog Training

I have been training with Bonny my german shepherd with Allbree. Before Bonny was in this 3 weeks training away, that did nothing. When I picked her up she was skinnier and afraid much more that when she went in, and trained at all. Bonny is 6 years old German Shepherd, reactive. After we started with Alan, with recommendations and Alan answering question and updates, she is doing significantly better, working to get her more confident. Alan and Renee offers a variety of tips and tools, and accommodating Bonny to get her trained and still some ways to go. She is very afraid and I got her not as a puppy. I strongly recommend their training.

Under qualified individual for anything behaviorally or emotionally driven in dogs. Uses heavy tools in place of skill. Uses shock to address prey drive in guardian breeds. These approaches have been condemned by every academic and scientific organization which informs animal learning and are in direct conflict with the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, ASPCA, CCPDT, IAABC, PPG, Humane Society, and on and on and on. Currently working with several of the dog's who are suffering the fall outs of using pain, discomfort, intimidation, force and pressure as a learning modality. Working with these people could have the impact you hoped or could create long term behavioral health issues. Dog training is unregulated. Trophies and huge sounding years of experience are for dog sports. Credentials, education, testing, results and experience are for changing dog behavior. Don't get the two confused. You do not need to use tools engineers specifically to create discomfort to teach a dog anything; ever. Using learning approaches created in the past 25 years and departing considerably from how we trained dogs from the early 1900's is safer, more fun and FAR more effective at creating permanent, resilient changes to dog behavior. This is obvious as modern companion animal learning approaches consider the underlying motivations the dog is producing the behavior and isn't as simplistic as creating a consequence in the moment as an attempt to reduce a habit driven behavior that is reinforced by context not by ANY consequences the humans provide. If you don't already understand the difference between behaviors driven by stimulus response learning and reinforced by habit and goal directed behaviors that are driven by reward seeking learning, should you even be charging a fee to teach other people about animal learning at all?

Alan and Renee of Albree Dog Training have been the best trainers we've ever worked with! We've worked with other trainers and had good results before, but we didn't realize how basic those other training sessions were until we signed up with Albree Dog Training. Super impressed!!! I feel like my dog and I are starting to get it. The trainers are very nice and care about our dogs. They put the dog's safety first above all else, which I greatly appreciate. We will continue to work with them and refer others to them.
