All Around K9 Training

All Around K9 Training took such beautiful care of Cookiedough. From the moment we walked in, it felt like he was being treated by people who truly saw him, his quirks, his sweetness, and his potential. The patience and kindness they showed made such a difference, and we could see him growing more confident every day. As a family, we felt supported, understood, and included in his progress. My husband and I were so pleased and blown away by All Around K9 with our dog Cleo, that we knew we had to send our other dog Lily with them too. Lily is a wonderful, 6 year old pup that may be too smart for her own good, stubborn, and very independently minded. Overall, Lily had a decent foundation but required work on some things (reactivity, leash pulling, recall). Walking was stressful, being around other pets was a major uncertainty, and her recall was a safety concern due to her being bit by a copperhead in the past. When she was about 3 years old, a family member was walking Lily around new years when people set off fireworks in their driveway right next to her. Lily managed to run away while still being on the leash. Her leash got caught and wrapped around a pole and she was stuck trying to run away while the fireworks were exploding next to her. After this incident, Lily developed severe PTSD from fireworks and other loud noises such as people moving their trash cans out during trash day, and the smell of smoke. Every 4th of July and New Years, we dreaded having to see our dog suffer while people celebrated. Lily would often tremble and salivate for hours. We eventually had to heavily medicate her with multiple sedatives just so she could halfway cope with it. We were saddened to see Lily’s personality fade as she was heavily sedated most of the time. After All Around K-9 helped our other dog Cleo, we knew they could help Lily, and it would only be fair that both our dogs had the same set of rules and standards. We sent Lily with Clay as soon as we got Cleo back. Clay worked with Lily and did the monumental task of systematically desensitizing Lily to fireworks and loud noises. He started small with snappers and worked his way up to real fireworks. Clay once again went above and beyond for us and Lily to train her and it was a bonus that when we had our training sessions with Lily, Clay also worked with us and Cleo some more. All Around K-9 really caters to the individual dog and family as a whole by creating personalized trainings for that unique environment. Clay did an amazing job not only training us for Lily, but also training us for both Cleo and Lily together. Clay’s training sessions with us never felt rushed, and he stayed until all our questions were answered and we felt comfortable. Lily now no longer pulls on the leash, barks and whines at other dogs, and comes to the door promptly when calling her. Clay also demonstrated for us Lily’s improvement with firework noises. During one of our training sessions he used the poppers (which were not quiet) and Lily handled it so well! She was a little nervous but recovered almost instantly and went about her day. We feel so relieved to have Lily at a much much better place and happy we know how to work her through things when the real holidays arrive. She’s no longer on medication too and is her old self! We took her off before we sent her too. Having both Lily and Cleo trained has made our lives a dream. Before, when walking both dogs alone, each would be pulling me in different directions and reacting to environmentals. We now walk both our dogs with both leashes in one hand and them walking at the same pace and right next to each other. They both almost act in perfect harmony with commands. It’s really like something out of a movie, and we cannot believe that it is actually possible that our dogs have this level of obedience and training. It really speaks to the quality of care and training that Gary, Clay, and All Around K-9 provide, to be able to train two very different dogs with two different issues, and have them come together with that level of synchrony. Both of our dogs have such a high level of confidence in themselves and we are so proud of them and grateful to Clay, Gary, and All Around K-9. We truly feel unstoppable now that both of our dogs are doing so well. We look forward to enjoying a more fulfilling life for all of us. Highly recommend All Around K-9! They have changed our lives! LIFE CHANGING! In November of 2025 my wife and I adopted a beautiful dog that her brother found in the neighborhood that had been dumped on the streets and starved until she was about 20 pounds. We were so lucky to get her and she has a beautiful personality. Due to her trauma, she experienced severe separation anxiety that would leave us worrying about her when we left for work. She also had some other obedience issues like jumping on people and opening the door to let herself out. With our busy schedules, we simply did not have the time to train her and needed to get her help so that she could live a happier life. We found All Around k-9 training and was instantly drawn to Gary due to his specialized and extensive experience training and handling dogs. Gary got us in for a consultation right away. He took the time to explain to us all the tools they use and showed us the training environment and what their approach was. We instantly felt comfortable with him and were left with no doubts. Gary’s expertise was evident right away and he even got her comfortable in the crate within 5 minutes and drastically improved her aversion. We were blown away. Dropping Cleo off was one of the hardest things we have ever done, as we were scared and broken hearted how she would handle the board and train due to her history of being dumped and recently getting comfortable with us. Clay was our assigned dog trainer, and we were so lucky to get him. Clay went out of his way and went above and beyond to train Cleo and work with our busy schedules to make sure we had the training to keep up the work they did. Clay focused the majority of the first week building a bond with Cleo and that foundation of trust. We were sent detailed updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with pictures. The very first picture we got, our minds were put instantly at ease as we could see her smiling and clearly having a great time with Clay. Clay’s passion for what he does is so incredible and he is extremely gifted at what he does. After 3 weeks, Cleo came back to our house and it was one of the most moving experiences of our lives to see without a doubt that Cleo had her life back. Her confidence is so high, she is no longer scared of things, being in public, or even just exploring around. We no longer worry about her being in the house in the crate while we are at work. Within the first week, we got two compliments from strangers while out with her due to her obedience and calmness around environmentals. Clay, Gary, and All Around K9 Training gave Cleo back her life, and helped her realize that a bad experience doesn’t have to mean you have to live your life in fear forever. The amount of freedom and peace of mind we have and the opportunities are endless now. We have absolute confidence in taking her in public, whether that be parks, restaurants, or stores. Cleo went from being our pet to our companion. Of course she still experiences a little separation anxiety, but both Cleo and us have the tools and confidence to work through it and we know that within a matter of time that will resolve. The work must be put on your end to continue to set the high standards and not get complacent. If you follow their guidance though, you will find yourself very successful and even able to sharpen some skills even more. Do not hesitate to choose All Around K-9 training.
