Quick review: Fantastic and highly recommend All Dogs Unleashed in Parker CO. If you want more information: Daisy's exuberant and bursting with happiness - sure every animal and human is her best friend. After admitting to ourselves we needed some major help and intervention with our four year old Golden Retriever, we started researching how to move forward. We needed to learn how to get Daisy to behave well socially and at the same time wanted to keep her happy and energetic personality intact. Thankfully we landed with Daniel and Steven at ADU in Parker. Two week board and train is how we started. Probably would have been all we needed but we chose what ended up being the wrong time for us to start. The process began when we were having some interior renovations done on the house and follow up training at home didn't get the needed time and attention. To be clear - this had nothing to do with ADU. We chose the wrong time for us to start on this journey. The timing might work for others and their situation - it didn't work for us. Then, Daisy didn't feel well. Ended up that she ate some construction material so was in the doggie hospital for a few days, followed with some medication for a week at home that kept her a bit groggy and quiet. So we "lost" two weeks of at-home follow up training very soon after she finished her two week board and train session. We and Daisy needed a Reset. Back she went to Daniel and Steven for a week of boarding and refresher training. Daisy's been home for a week and we're THRILLED with our progress (yes, Our progress!). We understand the value of the e-collar - which in our case is truly just a vibration that annoys Daisy if she's not following commands. Most often we never even push the button - she sees the remote in our hand and responds quickly and appropriately (returns to "place," drops whatever she picked up from the sidewalk, etc). We take walks multiple times a day. When we stop to talk with a neighbor she quietly sits or lays down next to my feet until I tell her we can Walk. She puts herself in Place and stays there when we sit at the dinner table and stays in Place until we Free her. One of the biggest challenges we faced with Daisy was when I'd be playing trains or blocks on the floor with our grandchild. Wanting to be part of the action, all 70 pounds of her would trot into the play area, tail wagging and head held high while partially dismantling the train track or knocking over block towers. Constant frustration. She now stays in Place, near enough to be watching and allowing the humans to happily play. Huge success for us! The results are amazing. We're committed to remaining consistent with Daisy and will reach out to Daniel and Steven whenever we need advice or more help. All Dogs Unleashed gave me tools to help my dog enjoy his walks even more. It also helped me establish boundaries for him in our house. I am able to communicate with him better and I’m able to direct him to where I need him to be. The stronger he gets with my commands the more freedom he will have when we go on walks. He is understanding heel and come really well. His favorite command is free and my favorite command is come which he is getting stronger at each day. He is getting really good at place and has stayed off of furniture because he knows where he can go. I have also used place when the front door opens as well as the garage door. Goal is for him to not run out and dart across the street. Already he has shown vast improvement in this and I know with continuous training he will get even better.
