That includes addressing feedback—especially when it contains inaccuracies.<br><br>To clarify a few points for future clients reading this:<br><br>The Dog 101 class is $25, not $50. It’s a required, dog-free orientation designed to give clients the groundwork they need before training begins. It helps determine whether group or private training is the best path and sets the stage for faster progress in session one.<br><br>The consultation session is priced higher because it includes goal setting, building the client’s custom DOG App homework profile, and creating a plan forward. These are foundational steps. That said, we did confirm your first session ended 15 minutes early—an honest mistake we just became aware of and addressed this evening. The trainer is highly experienced but was new to our facility at the time and unintentionally confused our consultation timing.<br><br>Regular training sessions are 30–45 minutes, by design. For most dogs—especially those dealing with fear or reactivity—this is the ideal working time. In fact, 90% of dogs mentally check out by the 30-minute mark, even in our group classes. Stretching sessions beyond that often reduces effectiveness.<br><br>Your last session was on July 15, and we reached out on July 18 to reschedule a canceled appointment due to one of our trainers being deployed for K9 search and rescue in Texas. We received no reply.<br><br>Our DOG App provides full reports after each session, including clear progress notes, wins, structured homework, and next steps tailored to your dog’s emotional needs and behavioral goals. These reports show a different picture than what was described in your review.<br><br>Regarding the pet store session—that was a location you suggested. While our trainer aimed to support your request, it wasn’t an ideal spot for Misty’s training needs, and we’ve used this as a training reminder to better assess location suitability moving forward.<br><br>As for the use of treats—this is a scientifically supported method used to help dogs relax, refocus, and gain confidence. You even noted your dog succeeded when kept at a distance and engaged with treats—this is exactly how behavior modification is meant to work. Forcing fearful dogs into discomfort leads to setbacks, not progress.<br><br>While we understand some of your frustrations, we wish you had reached out directly. We would have gladly connected you with another trainer and adjusted your plan. Not every trainer-client match is perfect, but we’re always willing to make it right—if given the opportunity.<br><br>We care deeply about the people and dogs we work with.
