A lifetime dog owner, I had never done the whole training "gambit" with any of my others and had moderately(ish) well behaved adult dogs eventually. Then faced with a large, dominant puppy with increasing behaviors and dominance issues we went looking for "socialization assistance". What I received was reassurance that I didn't have the wrong ideas but maybe needed some more ideas to utilize and tips and tricks on timing of both repremand and reinforcement. What my dog received was reinforcement that he really was mis-behaving and acting like a fool, and that other dogs were really not acting this way for their owners (or also getting in trouble if they were). The ringleaders soon had us all trained to walk, turn, and spin in circles; take cat naps of undetermined length and come back for more when called. The dogs had fun and my walks returned to relaxing jaunts- definitely worth the time and money spent!

We have taken our dog to three of Tara's dog training courses, beginning, intermediate and advanced. We learned as much or more than our dog did through the excellent training. Tara is able to see an issue with any dog and show how to resolve it in minutes. We saw this firsthand throughout the courses. It's really amazing how much all of the training exercises come together at the end to really make you proud of your dog for his manners and obedience. One really important part of training with our dog, was getting him to be around other dogs without having to go check them out. He is now perfectly mannered around single or even groups of dogs. Highly recommended for any dog and owner.

My partner and I got our first dog together about 8 months ago, a 3-year-old Australian Shephard that had been returned by his previous owners to their breeder. Before agreeing to sell and rehome Scout to us, the breeder required that we attend her beginning obedience class. That breeder/trainer was Tara, owner and operator of All Ways Dog Training. We’d never heard of her or met her before. She is the real deal. You will know what that means once you’ve met her. We attended the beginning class as required, which was covered by Tara at no cost. We’ve signed up for and paid for 2 additional classes since then. Going to school each week with our dog has been a positive experience for all of us. Scout looks forward to our classes. He starts whining with excitement before we even drive through the gates each week. I know nobody has time these days to add more to their schedule, but I hope you don’t wait like I did (I’m 72) to find a great trainer, like Tara, and do this with and for your dog.
