Allied Canine Training

We have two shelter dogs we adopted several years ago that had significant trust issues and special needs. The COVID shutdown did not help with these issues. One of our pups was always hyper aggressive around other dogs/animals and strange people. The other one was the opposite, almost catatonic, or would feed off of the first one's aggressive behavior. It was very stressful for all of us any time we took them anywhere or had anyone over. Three months ago (August 2024) we decided to seek training help. We found Allied Canine Training near Atmore, AL, about 30 minutes from our home. We spent almost an hour on the phone with Dion Wasdin, the owner, for an initial consultation. He was patient, asked all manner of questions, and explained training options. We decided to start with a few in-person training sessions at his home, then follow up with daily work with our pups at home. Fast forward 3 months and three paid training sessions later. Our two pups are 180 degrees different. Oscar's aggression and hyperactive behavior is 99% gone and any break is easily corrected. Maddie has almost completely come out of her shell. We can confidently take them anywhere - a city park, walking around our town square, even into a Tractor Supply store and they are both perfectly fine. Dion Wasdin of Allied Training is truly a "dog whisperer" that will give you a road map to training your dog(s) properly. He even offers multi-week dog "bootcamps" where your dog stays with him for intensive one-on-one training. We opted for the individual lessons and then augmented those with daily work at home. Make no mistake, it takes commitment as a dog owner to reinforce what you will learn from him, but the work will pay off. Thanks, Dion!!!
