AlphA and Omega Dog Training helps owners build clear communication, structure and reliable obedience with their dogs. Our philosophy is simple: Train the Human. The Dog Follows. We work with owners and dogs through obedience training, behavior modification, on-leash and off-leash training, e-collar training, board and train programs, service dog training, protection training and real-world distraction training. Our focus is not simply teaching commands, it is teaching owners how to communicate with and confidently handle their dogs in everyday situations. Training programs begin with an evaluation to determine the dog, owner and program needs.

In this program, the foundation for basic obedience is put into place with added expectations designed to develop stronger teamwork between you and your dog. This is a great program if you’re looking to take a proactive approach to dog training and avoid some of the most common and troublesome behaviors in and around your home. During behavioral development, the focus expands past handling techniques and delves into the psychology of the dog to change the relationship between you and your companion and enjoy a new way of living. Effective communication is the most important aspect of your training and all communication is built on trust, boundaries, and respect. Curriculum for the Behavioral Development Program includes: walking in the heel position on- and off-leash, basic commands (heel, sit, stay, down and come), kennel acclimation, establishment of boundaries, redirect, distance recall, drop it and leave it, and go to spot.

Board and trainProgram details
Our Board and Train Program provides top tier training for both human and dogs. If it is determined that you qualify for the Board & Train Program, your dog will be with an AlphA and Omega Certified Trainer for two weeks. Wherever your Trainer goes during the course of his/her normal daily activities, your dog will follow. This includes parks, malls, restaurants, beaches, and any other naturally occurring activity you can think of. We train in the real world environment to produce real world results!

Protection trainingProgram details
This program is designed to protect you and your family members at home or in a vehicle. Through a series of commands given, your dog will “Turn On” when it is needed and “Turn Off” when the threat is no longer there or the command is given to “Turn Off”.The dog should remain in a “Turn Off” mode until the command is given to “Turn On”. This is necessary for the dog to be able to remain calm in all settings, but at attention. In order for a family dog to be trained for this service, your dog must be at least one (1) year of age, have a solid temperament and must be both Basic and Advanced Obedience trained.

Service dogs (sometimes referred to as assistance dogs) are equipped to help people with physical, neurological, or psychological disabilities perform everyday tasks. They help people overcome limitations caused by their disability and increase their independence and quality of life. They can sense that their handler is about to experience a medical problem, alert them of it, and assist or provide comfort when the problem occurs.These dogs can provide a wide range of assistance to address many types of physical limitations. They can alert people with hearing impairment to ringing phones and doorbells, help people with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Military Sexual Trauma, or Traumatic Brain Injury to function successfully in public. Service dogs help them to feel secure and ease tension while in stressful situations. Each service Dog/handler team is individually trained to address the unique needs of the handler.

This training is designed train your dog to protect a business or property. The dog will learn to bite on command, and will be trained to do so through a series of commands. Once the “Turn On” command is given, the dog should get aggressive, at this point the warning is given to the intruder and the dog can be released.The dog is taught where and when the bite should happen. Once the impact / bite happens, we will teach your dog to release and “Come to a Heel” and still be on “Alert” but remain under the influence of your command. This program is designed to protect business personnel or protect property owned by your business and cannot be used in any in home business or personal dwelling in a residential area. This program is only for commercial businesses and their personnel.

I will be honest and say the head Trainer Jay is very personable and the other 2 trainers I met in my area are nice enough but nice does not substitute what my puppy encountered.
Some of the trainers have not had enough training and research on particular dog breeds. I feel to be a stellar dog trainer you need to do extensive research on the many nuances of many breeds and not go by "hear say" . We initially started with home sessions but because the corrections seemed rather harsh for such a young pup we paused those services for about a week or so to just allow my puppy to be a puppy, especially since I noticed a change in her due to the over exaggerated corrections and hearing my puppy yelp. We then resumed services for we do have a large breed dog and understand that obedience is paramount so we decided to utilize, the board and train service .....Huge mistake!!! experience was AWFUL!!!!!! My 3 month old puppy came home after the board and train with PJ malnourished, with kennel cough, and abrasions on her neck (apparently from excessive use of an electronic collar). Thier board and train is nothing more than having my sweet puppy in a hot car or in a down stay position while focusing on getting other business and training other dogs. They use the dogs in their board and train as nothing more than diversion props. My puppy was returned without leftover dog food( I know there was clearly a lot left for you could see her rib cage and I know how much I instructed the trainer to feed her every day, missing bowls, and her favorite toy at the time. The Trainer was also instructed by the Vet to bring her into retape her ears after a procedure and my dog was returned with tape hanging off of her ear, not following the Vets instructions.
The head Trainer is a seemingly nice guy and to give an honest review did refund some of the money back after I sent him photos of my dog's malnourished body and abrasions on her neck. That was noble but the chain of events still nagged at me and when I brought up the board and train scenario I was told to leave the past in the past and we should move forward. Kind of hard to move forward when my puppy have permanent marks on her neck as a reminder of the harsh treatment that went on during her 2 weeks with Alpha and Omega. The trainer that had my puppy for 2 weeks did not update us and clearly should not render the board and train service. I am actually angry at myself for not insisting on seeing conditions of where my dog would be for 2 weeks and specifically how much training will my puppy actually receive. Because this group believes in posting photos on Facebook, I could see the trainer that had my puppy was constantly posting his new business and how great their new client's training session went and all I could think about was "okay" where is my dog during all of these sessions???My puppy did learn the 5 basic commands but she is not polished or sharp and in some cases have to be told numerous times to do the same thing, she was not taught the proper way to go in and out of doors and to potty on command( The trainer in our initial session told us these are task that will be taught to our dog but we never had a session focusing on those specific tasks) . Like I mentioned seemingly nice guys upon meeting but being nice and rendering a great service are totally different topics.
