Alpha Dog K9 Training

I have been a client at Alpha Dog for over six years and highly recommend Christina and her entire team of trainers. I’ve taken classes ranging from puppy Kindergarten through the advanced classes and always had a great experience with my two dogs. I appreciate the balanced approach to training and understanding how I can improve as a handler to set my dog up for success. Class was a great way to learn new things and ask questions so that I could go home and practice during the week to continue building the bond and trust with my dogs. I’m so appreciative for all the things I’ve learned here and it shows in how my dogs and I work together as a team.

My mom and i were referred to this business by a friend because they were local, and we signed up. Of important note is that I am autistic so i need more help with complex tasks than most people. Christina and her assistant were not helpful at all when i asked for help during the classes, and at some points she was yanking our dog's leash so hard that he had his tail between his legs because he was afraid of her. I was not having success with her methods as they often relied on pulling on the leash, again, leading to our dog being afraid and resistant. Every week during our classes there was one less person, likely due to Christina's extremely rough methods. Her demeanor was extremely hostile and i found myself crying on multiple occasions due to lack of support and ridicule when trying to train my dog. Training methods for police dogs is not the same as training methods for domestic household pets. We did not get a refund for the classes we didn't attend. I ended up opting to train my dog myself through gentler methods and have had FAR more success. I could not get My dog to understand lie down with Christina's methods. What did work was hand gestures, lots of treats, and consistency. If you want your dog to be trained with the rigidity of a police dog, this business is right up your alley. Otherwise, look elsewhere

Alpha K9 does not deserve your business. Christina will be unprofessional and rude to you as she was to me. Christina refused to disclose how many hours worth of training the $695 course was. After finishing two 40 minute lessons out of a total of five, she told me 40 minutes is really a “pyschiatrist hour.” This brings her services to over $200 per hour, with Petsmart level basic training. As I wrote a check for our two completed lessons, she asked me “Do we need a lesson on how to write a check?” She then stated, “You owe an extra $15 for writing an incorrect check.” Christina relies on misleading and intimidating customers to pay for this outrageously expensive course.
