At Alpha Instincts, we transform dogs and their families by building communication between dogs and their owners through balanced dog training. Our trainers are all well-equipped to handle issues from leash-pulling to aggression. Our programs focus on obedience, as much as they do on behavioral rehabilitation. We see plenty of dogs that have great obedience skills, however, they are not able to hold a command around basic distractions or maintain a calm state of mind. It is so important for us and the dog, that we can work with the dog on these issues in real-life scenarios.

For the board and train do the trainers keep the dog in their own house? How many hours per day do they work with the dog?
Currently, our Board & Trains are housed with our trainers in their individual homes. As for how much time per day is spent actively working with them, that is strictly dependent on the dogs themselves. We work dogs one-on-one, as well as take them out on field trips when they are ready to take their training into more public environments, so it can vary from day to day. We do our best to give each dog the individual time they need in order to help them make progress every day, without ever overextending.

I have a 4mo old GSDmix that bites,jumps , and barks alot. Do y'all have a training class for puppies, if so how long and what is the cost?
Hi Nancy, Yes! We do currently offer a Puppy Program for puppies starting as early as 10 weeks! We are finishing up our private obedience classes with Nick for our 9 month old lab, Rosie, and could not be more pleased with Nick and the Alpha Instincts team! They tailor the training to the needs of each individual dog and family. Not only did Nick help us establish a solid foundation of obedience with Rosie, but he equipped us with the tools necessary to continue her training between sessions and to set us up for success after her training is complete. There is such a big difference in her from when we started to now! Nick is very knowledgable and we learned so much from him throughout Rosie's training. In between sessions, he made sure to text and check on her progress and was always so helpful anytime we had questions about anything! It is evident how much Nick and the Alpha Instincts team care about the dogs, their families, and providing quality training. We cannot say enough good things about them and highly recommend them!

Clarissa was amazing with our dog. He was miserable to walk, or even to try to take him to the park in the car. Clarissa gave us the knowledge and confidence to take control of his behavior and understand how to redirect him when he needs it. He is a completely different dog now!

We recently moved across country to Huntsville, and we reached out to Alpha Instincts for dog training for our very sweet, but anxious almost 3 year old rottie mix. We first did the 4 week program with Megan and then did the 3 week board and train. Not only did the training help with basic obedience, it helped build confidence and help resolve a lot of our dog’s separation anxiety issues and general anxiety. Most importantly, Megan gave us the tools to continue working and training with our dog so he can live his best life. Megan was absolutely wonderful to work with. Not only was she incredibly professional and responsive, you can tell her love for all animals helps her connect with each dog she is training. I cannot recommend Alpha Instincts enough if you are in the Huntsville/Tennessee Valley area.
