At Alpha Instincts, we transform dogs and their families by building communication between dogs and their owners through balanced dog training. Our trainers are all well-equipped to handle issues from leash-pulling to aggression. Our programs focus on obedience, as much as they do on behavioral rehabilitation. We see plenty of dogs that have great obedience skills, however, they are not able to hold a command around basic distractions or maintain a calm state of mind. It is so important for us and the dog, that we can work with the dog on these issues in real-life scenarios.

For the board and train do the trainers keep the dog in their own house? How many hours per day do they work with the dog?
Currently, our Board & Trains are housed with our trainers in their individual homes. As for how much time per day is spent actively working with them, that is strictly dependent on the dogs themselves. We work dogs one-on-one, as well as take them out on field trips when they are ready to take their training into more public environments, so it can vary from day to day. We do our best to give each dog the individual time they need in order to help them make progress every day, without ever overextending.

I have a 4mo old GSDmix that bites,jumps , and barks alot. Do y'all have a training class for puppies, if so how long and what is the cost?
Hi Nancy, Yes! We do currently offer a Puppy Program for puppies starting as early as 10 weeks! Rachel and her team are some of the best around. They take the time to listen to YOUR needs and design a program with you and your pets best interest in mind. Their knowledge on dog cognition, behavior and mindset is unmatched. From basic puppy classes to behavior modification, these guys are it. They can help you with anything. Megan has been an unlimited source of support and workable suggestions to solve our puppy drama's. Oh my goodness! Alpha Instincts Dog Training was a life saver! We entered with our two labradoodles, Jack and Salem, who were so out of control! We were placed Rachel, who is amazing! She worked hard to train us and our pups. We could see a difference with in the first week! We absolutely love this facility and their trainers. It’s nice to be able to enjoy family time without worrying about our pups destroying the house. I can’t wait to start the next phase of training. Honestly I don’t think we could’ve found better training for our pups! I highly recommend them!

Alpha Instincts is AWESOME!! We were a little frazzled with our new puppy and wanted to curb some of the bad behaviors before they got too bad. Megan was super at helping us to not only better understand how to do it but also how to recognize the warning signs and triggers that could be causing them. We are only a few weeks out from the 4 week board and train so still not totally where we want to be but we feel that we are on the right path.
