Aly's Puppy Boot Camp

We just graduated and began our new chapter with precious Toby. He is stunning in every way - the epitome of an APBC's Doodle Ambassador. First and foremost, Toby will be part of our family. He also will serve as school therapy dog with me, a chaplain and teacher, at a PK--8th independent school in Dallas. Aly, Wendie, and the APBC team, have given us the foundation and the tools we need for a loving and purposeful life with Toby at home and at school. At first, I was unsure about learning virtually while Toby was doing in person training, but the process REALLY worked. We embraced Pillars of Pack Leadership training online and stayed connected daily through APBC videos and social media. The pieces came together over six months and then during graduation. While we still have so much to learn (and a long way to go as the human part of the human-dog relationship) the foundation is in place. It is amazing to see, even in his first days with us, the CALM and JUST BE that Aly speaks about and prioritizes in training. Aly and Wendie have been positive, responsive, affirming, and clear - every step of the way. Their work ethic, dedication, passion, and faith resonated with me from the very beginning. Their work is a vocation, a calling - not just a job. Their intuition and training experience is without parallel. It is worth the investment! There are so many things I could say but I will close by saying that Aly and team are AMAZING and highly recommended, five-star plus, plus, plus, plus! PS. Aly created and patented a hands-free leash that I literally could not do without at school. As chaplain, I carry lots of books, props, felt (and so on!) back and forth between the school building and the church for chapel services. I am not sure how I would manage all the back n forth without the handsfree leash. I love it at home too so Toby and I can just go about our lives inside or outside, together. Make sure to get Aly's hands-free Good Walker Leash as well as the regular Good Walker leash. Several of each so they are handy at all times.

Yes you can teach an old dog new tricks! Our 8 year old dog and us parent needed help to lead a peaceful and happy life filled with great walks, good human interactions and continued love. Aly’s methodologies and instruction have improved our relationships with our dogs and others as we can engage safely and calmly with our dog. Consistent behaviors, routine and strong foundational skills are what we have taken away from her training. We will continue to refresh with her and the APBC team. Highly recommend the training packages and all the support materials to new and existing dog families.

Wendie was wonderful for graduation!! I want to tell you about a particular moment I had with Wendie. She displayed an incredible balance of sincere emotion & disciplined professionalism that left me in utter awe. I am so aware of how connected you must have become with this precious dog. I have no doubt you’re connected to all the dogs you train. I’m not sure that I’ve ever fully understood the expense of a dog like LuLu - but I am telling you, I have turned a corner to recognize, appreciate & advocate for the cost & expense of a dog that not only has shifted my world; but shifted entirely for the better; free from any anxieties that often come with incorporating a new pet into life’s daily routine. Your emotional investment alone is worthy of expense. The creation of your incomparable compound, and the remarkable staff you have formed is world-class. Your cost is beyond fair- it is a gift. LuLu is as loving, happy & well-behaved as anyone could ever hope for. I have work to do but she’s being patient. She is a light that you helped shine on the world, and I thank you.
