Amanda Gagnon Dog Training offers Group Classes, Workshops, Private Training Services and more throughout Manhattan 7-days a week. Our training programs are designed to help our clients experience the deep joy that results from a healthy relationship with their dog. We use well-researched techniques that are grounded in scientific evidence and applied in fun and effective ways. Most importantly, we strive to improve the lives of every dog and human who comes through our door. Administrative Office closed Saturday & Sunday, and reachable via email only on Fridays.

How well do you work with middle-age dogs? Our six year old rescue is pretty traumatized and would benefit from one-on-one!
Dogs of ALL ages are welcome in [most] classes and dogs of ANY age can benefit from one-on-one private sessions, if that's what you're looking for. We've helped MANY rescues with varying degrees of trauma over the years! Please feel free to stop in and discuss your needs with our team or give a call and let us talk you through the services we have to offer.

Best philosophy I've ever heard. I haven even been here, but I called them and asked a ton of questions and this IS the only place I would EVER take my pup. They have a no harm philosophy. No stupid prong collars or any of that pseudoscience that prong collar enjoyers believe. 10 ⭐ rating!
Leap’s 10 year bday is today! She was an 8 week puppy when she came home & soon after started puppy training, leash walking, recall and socials with Amanda & her team. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about the foundational skills WE received and how much easier & more fulfilling they make our lives today. Thanks Amanda & Team!!!

We first went to Amanda Gagnon because we knew our puppy needed basic manners and training to have her best life here in NYC but we kept coming back because of how extraordinary and excellent the team is at Amanda Gagnon. They are kind, they are fun, they are so knowledgeable about all dog-things. They bonded so quickly with our pup to the point that our puppy was pulling into their entrance whenever we passed by their doors. Specifically, Liz was an expert in helping us connect and train our pup and has gone beyond expectations of what we could have imagined. Sarah was also a trainer that helped us in our early classes and she was so loving, caring and resourceful in helping us learn how to best train our puppy. Couldn't be happier to have come here and couldn't be more excited to keep coming back. 6/5 stars

We had an amazing experience working with Melissa for our reactive and fearful rescue dachshund, Bonnie. Melissa shed so much light on Bonnie's demeanor, helping us understand her triggers and sensitivities on a deeper level. After only a few sessions, we felt equipped with the tools we needed for our training at home and we've seen such a dramatic, positive difference in Bonnie’s behavior in the few months since. Melissa is incredibly knowledgeable and such a pleasure to work with!!
