Amanda Gagnon Dog Training offers Group Classes, Workshops, Private Training Services and more throughout Manhattan 7-days a week. Our training programs are designed to help our clients experience the deep joy that results from a healthy relationship with their dog. We use well-researched techniques that are grounded in scientific evidence and applied in fun and effective ways. Most importantly, we strive to improve the lives of every dog and human who comes through our door.

How well do you work with middle-age dogs? Our six year old rescue is pretty traumatized and would benefit from one-on-one!
Dogs of ALL ages are welcome in [most] classes and dogs of ANY age can benefit from one-on-one private sessions, if that's what you're looking for. We've helped MANY rescues with varying degrees of trauma over the years! Bisou started training with Michelle at about 4 months old via Amanda Gagnon Puppy Kindergarten program and it was amazing! She met her first new puppy friends there and I received the support and education I needed to help Bisou grow into a well adjusted and confident puppy. We loved the trainings and Michelle's approach so much, upon graduation we enrolled in adolescents day school for continued support + socialization for Bisou. Let me tell you Bisou is one happy pup thanks to Michelle and the Amanda Gagnon Dog Training School and looks forward to going to day school every week!

I can’t tell you how thankful I am that my Vet told me about AGDT. I have a pitbull puppy who is so lovely BUT had a bunch of issues to work through. I thought that I would never be able to get him to behave or listen to me. He was pulling heavily on the leash, lunged at other dogs (not aggressive but just excited), and kept jumping on my senior dog. There’s a lot more but let’s just say those were the top three. I started with the puppy school and his road to being the best dog started there.
The trainers at AGDT are just the best of the best. They are very caring and careful with how they handle each dog. Every dog gets special attention and treatment. And you can feel how much they care for your dog and stay involved in the whole process.
Flash forward…after months of attending the puppy school and adolescent socials my dog is almost the perfect dog!! He is still not a year yet but the improvement was tenfold! Thank you AGDT you have given me and my family a wonderful and well behaved pit bull to enjoy for life!! I have referred anyone that approaches me on dog training and socialization. Hands down highly recommended!!!!

Shocked with the reviews. I’m pretty sure my dog is has anxiety from just the one class I took him to.
1. There should be older dogs to help socialize younger dogs/More preparation for the puppy classes.
2. There were only 2 other pups in the class that were playing aggressively. Do not plan on coming back here. Instructor was nice but definitely not worth the money.

This is an awesome place to train your dog! They are knowledgeable, kind, and super helpful. All the class options make it easy to find the right class for you and your pup. Plus the great training staff are right there to help you work on issues that are specific to you and your dog!
