American Canine Academy Dog Training

We had our dog participate in two week off leash training while we traveled, and I've been so impressed from start to finish. The trainers really listen and do a thorough intake and then offloading of information (aka they train you too). Training included basic commands plus stay, place, heel, and manners when greeting new people. Our 6-month puppy did incredibly well and learned beautifully. Now that we are home she is slipping a bit because we are also learning, but guess what - we can always go back for more training, which is all included in the original price of training. This gives me such peace of mind knowing that our dog and family can make sure we all adhere to our training and our dog can chill with us in any setting. The kennel experience is top notch with kennel attendants who really care about the dogs. Our dog seemed to love her time there and we will be going back for other times we need a kennel as well as training opportunities.

We have a 2 year old husky that, as expected with this breed, can be a little stubborn when it comes to training. We looked around and decided to take a chance on the Advanced Immersion Package they provided. The initial consultation was very thorough and the took the time to really understand his behaviors and discuss the details of the program. Once he was dropped off, we received weekly updates and report cards on his progress with lots of details and the next steps they were focusing on. The send-home class at the end was once again very thorough, discussing expectations and what we needed to do to follow through with his training as well as a session to actively go over all the commands with our husky. Follow-up sessions and group sessions were also made available to us. The training has made a world of difference in our doggy's behavior. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have their fur baby trained. I have been truly impressed with the results they provided, especially with a breed known for it's cleverness and natural chaos. Update: We adopted another husky, beautiful 1 year old stray this time. Yes we love the breed for sure. So the first thing we did after adopting is once again reach out to American Canine Academy for training. They paid attention to all our concerns and made sure to address each of them throughout the training, specifically calling out when they were working on them. The weekly report cards with videos and pictures along with a breakdown of the activities for the week were a focal point for the entire family to read and watch. The send home class was very interactive and provided hands on training continuation advice and guidance. We love being able to take our dogs with us on camping and outdoor activities and thanks to American Canine Academy and their excellent training program, we are able to do this quickly and have a great sense of security that our pets will respond to our commands.

I can't express enough how grateful I am to ACA for the amazing transformation they helped my rescue pup, Buford, undergo. When I first brought him home, he was a bundle of energy, scared of being alone or crated, and struggled with basic obedience and potty training. Despite being incredibly friendly, he would pull relentlessly towards any human or dog, disregarding commands or boundaries. And, on top of all of that, he was so sensitive to corrections that even gentle attempts at redirecting his behavior led to negative reactions. As someone with a shoulder injury, I wasn’t able to handle his energy and training needs on my own, so I did a lot of research and visited several board-and-train facilities. ACA stood out to me as the right fit, and I’m so glad I trusted them with Buford. Leaving him for six weeks was tough, but it ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made. The results were truly life-changing. Buford came home with a newfound confidence, and we settled into a peaceful routine together. The updates I received throughout his training – pictures and videos – were incredibly reassuring, and I could see how much he was thriving there. It was clear that ACA’s approach was tailored to his needs and that he was happy and well cared for. Almost a year later, Buford is a happy, well-behaved dog, and even more amazing, I was able to rescue a second dog without hesitation. Buford has become such a great role model for the new puppy, and it’s incredible to see how far he’s come. I’m forever thankful to ACA for giving me and Buford this new chapter of our lives. I tell everyone about ACA because I know how nerve-wracking it can be to trust someone else with your dog. But ACA truly exceeded my expectations, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I am beyond thankful to Sean and his team!! I had spent alot of money on my dog's training before and nothing worked. I got him from a shelter and he was aggressive with other dogs and a bit skeptical at times in odd situations. After the 5 week board and train, I swear he was a different dog. He became confident and relaxed. He now looks to me for guidance instead of doing his own thing. I am able to interact with neighbors without him reacting and even taking him to social events with other dogs. Which is something I could only dream of before.
