American K-9 Training/Cathy Johnston

Cathy transformed our two Akitas and started them on the path to becoming wonderful pets. Hana, the mother, was rescued, pregnant, from a puppy mill. When we took her to Cathy, she was still afraid of her own shadow, scared of the outdoors and people, and afraid of traffic. A month later, we could leash walk her on busy streets, she was reserved but not afraid of strangers, and was happy to be outside. Toshi, her son, was the spoiled brat who needed to know that there were rules and limits; he now responds to leash and voice commands. We continue to see with Cathy, as she not only works with the dogs and their owners but also cares about the animals and the families they live with. Our dogs now consider Cathy's house to be their second home. Our only regret is not finding out about Cathy sooner.

Cathy is a miracle worker. Our dog Huck was extremely aggressive with animals and could be very unpredictable with humans. We did the best we could and we worked with him but then it became more serious when we had our daughter. We sent him to Cathy As a last resort before we had to rehome him. I can honestly say our dog is a completely different dog now. My daughter can go stand in front of him and take food away from him take his toys away from him brush his Furrer with her brush and he doesn’t do anything. He has become so mellow that our friends think we’re giving him tranquilizers. He still the happy playful dog we always had but the fear of him biting someone or another animal has been reduced significantly. We have done follow up training with Cathy and wish we knew about her so much sooner. We have referred all of our friends and if we get another dog we will be sending them to her as well!
