May I ask this question I am intrested it a protection dog, I've made it down to 3 breeds, German shepherd,malinois, And American sentinel bandog, Why would a choose a bandog When the other 2 are established recognized breeds.
If you are seeking a protection dog, it is far more important to deal with a breeder that tests their dogs in that regard. Breed alone means nothing if the breeder does not test their stock. Secondly, attacks from canines occur three times more often than do attacks from humans. Then in some areas there are other types of animal threats as well. As a result, it is in my opinion the best protection dog is a dog that can deal with any type of threat, be it of the two legged or four legged variety. Finally, I also believe the best FAMILY type of guardian is one that is not rank driven (has no interest in dominating those within the family).

Hello Susan. I did not work in the Army. I have had an interest in animals, especially dogs, all my life. I majored in Animal Sciences and obtained both a B.S. and M.S. in the field before beginning our breeding program. One of my professors owned a dog training business as well and I trained dogs there.

Picked up a Fawn Male from the Slam/Biscuit breeding over the Super Bowl Weekend and what an unbelievable Dog he is turning out to be! Driving back to Florida was so easy as he was just relaxing in the back of the Suburban with my son with NO issues.. His Bond with the Family has been instant and his transition to our home has also been so easy, already knowing he has to go outside to do his business.. He is also showing Great Guarding instincts, at just about 4 months old, barking and growling at Strangers etc.. Now what has been so impressive with this dog and not ever experiencing this with any of my other past dogs I’ve had throughout my life, is he is a constant guardian, meaning no matter who it is in my family, is a constant guardian when and if they go outside our property, constantly following and staying next to us with NO Leash!! on our property which is in woods out in horse country… Even when I had workers installing a Farm Fence the pup walked by my side when it came to inspect the completion of the job. My Fence installer was amazed at how a pup so young walked along my side with NO Leash! I have to say this is amazing thing this pup does at such a young age, but I know when he gets older, this definitely will Not be allowed because he is showing some aggression at strangers when he barks and growls at them.. If you are interested in a dog like this please reach out to Lee, who is an incredible breeder, and when he says these dogs are Family Companion Guardians, this is exactly what now I see when he says this..
