Dewayne would keep us up to date in training process which gave us peace of mind by sending us videos when he trained him and we see a huge difference. In our pet. I reached out to probably 10 or more dog trainers in the local tidewater area. What stood out to me with anchor up k9 academy is Dewayne’s approach to training. I elected to go with a 3 week board and train for my 9 month old mini labradoodle Sonny. We were struggling to walk him on a leash, having issues with his potty training, issues inside the home with jumping and overall issues with obedience. Dewayne not only taught Sonny and fixed ALL of our concerns- he taught us a simple, sustainable and humane way to train our dog and maintain his amazing new found behavior. He even simulated pushing a stroller to show Sonny how to heel next to it. We have two young children and needed a comprehensive solution. We now can fully enjoy Sonny and enjoy playing with him! He truly is a new dog. Knowing we can reach out anytime even after the board and train to resolve anything that pops up really seals the deal. BEST dog trainer in Hampton roads. I used DeWayne’s 6 private puppy lessons. Dewayne was very responsive and great to work with. We started when my puppy Iris was 9 weeks old, and I really liked the positive play approach to the lessons. Each week Iris looked forward to “playing” and we have started building our foundation. I highly recommend to anyone bringing home a new puppy - it was super helpful with getting her learning in such a positive way.
