Anchored Canine

Kathrine at Anchored Canines trained a medical alert service dog for my seizures. And everything about the process and the company and essentially my dog has been a beautiful experience. Kathrine is so knowledgeable and eager and had a plan/answer for everything I threw at her. She doesn’t just know what she’s doing with her dogs and training but she’s an extremely professional and personable person to work with who cares about her customers well as her dogs. I’m am so truly impressed and awed by her that I like to keep some of her business cards in my dogs service vest just in case I get the opportunity to hand them out to someone. 100/10 would recommend and use Katherine and Anchored Canines again!

We had a HORRIBLE experience and DO NOT recommend purchasing a dog from Anchored Canine/Katherine Weidemeier of Iowa. We received a very aggressive, poorly mannered dog and have had a very difficult time finding someone willing to adopt him. We purchased what was believed and marketed to be a fully trained 4-year-old police K9/protection dog capable of living peacefully in a family setting. Since Day 1 of adoption the dog, Roby, exhibited excessively aggressive behavior towards both humans and dogs. Roby has predatory aggression and attacked our small dog on multiple occasions. He has extreme jealously with very poor obedience and would fight our larger dog for toys/food. Roby also lunged and nipped at several humans/guests, and was reactive towards numerous dogs in the neighborhood. He required constant, very high corrections on the e-collar and had terrible basic obedience. Roby resided mostly in isolation away from other humans and pets for the safety of all dogs and humans. When on walks he required a muzzle. Roby attacked our small dog then nipped at me. A stranger and neighbor who saw the incident came running to help. Professional Assessment: Due to the inability to have this dog safely around neighbor dogs or friends, and the need for constant corrections, Roby received a professional assessment. The K9 handler has over 30 years proven experience specifically with police/protection dogs. The handler performed extensive testing on Roby in narcotics detection, protection, basic obedience and around different animals/humans. Roby quickly failed in all areas. He was tested multiple times, yet still failed.

Kathrine is a fabulous trainer. We sent our almost 2 year old Goldendoodle, Oakley, to her. She worked with him for 10 days. I really liked her program for the positive reinforcement and only when needed a bit of the negative reinforcement and most of all, the drop off and pick up, once training was complete. This prevented no in between distractions. The results were great. We are all adjusting well to the new routine. Katherine is very attentive to follow up when needed. She even came out to our house to see Oakley in his home environment. Overall, I would highly recommend Kathrine and Anchored Canine for all your dog training needs. Oakley is a much happier, well mannered dog!! A+++
