Ancillary K9 Dog Training

My hyper active dog is 11 and after trying many different trainers in his younger years and having a trainer tell me he was un-trainable I had given up on being able to take him out of my house with out him having a full meltdown. My sister found Dion for her dog aggressive dog and after seeing her results she talked me into doing an evaluation with Dion. I’ll be honest that I was hesitant but willing to give it a shot. After our sessions, this is the first time in my dogs life that I’ve been able to take him places with confidence. Thank you Dion for giving us tools that actually work for his brain!

I have two medium dogs one 8M and one 2.5F. The male was always dog reactive and the female is very anxious and nervous. She also would start fights with the male and I spent thousands at the vet repairing their wounds. Additionally, I couldn't walk them together as they were very difficult to control. After a bad fight in April, I contacted Ancillary K9 and Dion agreed to train both dogs over 8 sessions. He made me read this book, the Good Dog Way Pt 2 and I never felt so much like a dog parent failure, as I saw myself in the book as the super permissive dog parent. It was really eye opening and motivated me even more to not just train my dogs but myself. I just completed my 7th session and it is night and day! I can walk my dogs together and when they see another dog on the other side of the street they aren't immediately freaking out. I even get asked if I'm a dog trainer! Lol! But if you don't put in the time to train your dog, building the basics and reinforcing the trainings that Dion provides, you probably won't be successful. But if you do, Dion gives you the tools, encouragement, and support to change your dog's life and your own at the same time. I used to walk 2 hours each day and now that I can handle them together, I have essentially gained a free hour out of my day!! I now know how to recognize when the female is at the edge and can calm her down. She tried to start a fight w the male a few weeks ago, but I was able to stop her immediately and we went on with our walk. That was empowering.

If I could give Dion at K9 Ancillary more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. When we first came to him, our Staffordshire Terrier had a very difficult past. He had a serious Grade 3 bite history and significant trauma from a previous owner, and we suspect he may have even been used in dog fighting. We were overwhelmed, scared, and honestly unsure if we would be able to keep him. From day one, Dion never judged us or our dog. Instead, he took the time to teach us how to understand our dog’s behavior, build trust, and most importantly, keep ourselves and everyone around us safe in every situation. He didn’t just train our dog—he gave us the knowledge and confidence to become better owners. One thing that truly sets Dion apart is that he cares about the whole dog, not just obedience. During one of our training sessions, he noticed our dog’s severe skin allergies and recommended switching him to a raw diet. Within just two weeks, the transformation was incredible. His skin cleared up, his allergies dramatically improved, and he became a much happier, healthier dog. That advice alone changed his quality of life. Because of Dion, we made the decision to keep our dog instead of giving up. Looking back now, we can’t imagine our lives without him. That is something we will always be grateful for. Over the course of this journey, Dion has become much more than a trainer. He has been a mentor, a source of encouragement, and a genuine friend who has supported us every step of the way. It’s rare to find someone who is this knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly invested in both the dogs and the people he works with. If you’re looking for someone who will not only train your dog but also teach you how to build a lasting relationship with them, I cannot recommend Dion and K9 Ancillary highly enough. Thank you for helping us save our dog, giving us confidence, and changing all of our lives for the better. We are forever grateful. We are happy to say he is a very happy boy and lives an amazing life and still is his goofy self.

I found Ancillary K9 & Dion after my dog got into a fight with another dog. My two dogs were both reactive, causing scenes with other dogs. I was scared to walk my dog, I wasn’t sure if it was safe to let him out for potty breaks…Dion changed all of that. Nervousness turned into confidence and doubt turned into control. I didn’t feel like I could walk my dogs one at a time let alone together, now I can walk both of my dogs at the same time, by myself, with full confidence that they are in my control. I never would have in my wildest imagination believed that my dogs could see a rabbit and not react or come inside with only one command while distractions are around. But that is the wonderful life that we get to experience together now. And my dogs get to go out into the world and experience what it has to offer rather than being isolated living in fear. My 8 month old golden doodle, Dolly, and I have been working with Dion for a couple of months now and I cannot say enough positive about him and his training methods. There have been so many wins but I’ll highlight a few that have been most valuable to me. Loose leash walking: the education Dion gave us corrected Dolly’s pulling in a way that nothing I’d tried up until that point had. Second, recall. At 8 months old this baby has a more solid recall than I’ve ever has with any dog. We continue to work it as instructed in increasingly distracting environments to really lock it in. And third, her overall improved focus and compliance. I love being outside and it was so important for me to have a well behaved dog in public. We’ve tested her at t-ball games, garden stores, coffee shops, etc. and she’s truly exceeded what I believed she’d be capable of at this age. If you’re browsing the reviews trying to decide if it’s worth the investment, it is. I cannot recommend Dion enough. The training and tools he provides are a life long gift for you and all your fur babies, now and in the future.
