Andrea Arden Dog Training

My husband and I have been attending classes at Andrea Arden since we first brought home our lab, Whiskey, last April. We've taken the majority of those lessons with Hannah and have been so deeply impressed with her style of positive reinforcement and patience with all the puppies (and owners!) It's truly made a world of difference in Whiskey's behavior and we frequently get comments about how calm and well-behaved he is, especially for a puppy! Can't praise the AA team--and especially Hannah--highly enough! We're already looking forward to our next class!

I have been working with the trainer Hannah ever since I got my puppy last year. My golden has always been an anxious girl and it’s taken a lot of work to create positive social interactions with people and other dogs both on and off of the leash. Hannah created a helpful schedule so we could set my dog up for success in potty-training and basic obedience. She has been a fabulous resource for my dog’s reactivity and general anxiety. She also has really helped me understand how to read my dog’s behavior and respond accordingly. Hannah responds to my anxious worries with the calm assured attitude of a professional. Our combined hard work has paid off and I’ve become a better dog owner thanks to all of Hannah’s guidance. I recommend her to all of my friends and strangers I meet in the park!

Hannah Richter is a total joy to work with and I would recommend her to anyone who wants to understand their dog and have fun bonding with their dog with training. I first met Hannah in a puppy manners class at AADT and she was absolutely lovely. She made a group lesson feel personal, Clover and I got so much out of each session that I wanted to do even more training with Hannah 1:1. Hannah came to our home and was so incredibly kind, fun, and helpful. Her communication is clear and easy to follow. She helped me see things that I didn't even realize I was doing that allowed me to safely take care of my dog on NYC streets. Clover is shy but takes to Hannah like she's known her forever. She is worth every single penny! Hannah also significantly helped with me sorting out what was going on with Clover's hips when we were doing training. Unfortunately, my dog was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and Hannah was super supportive and kind, she totally steered us in the right direction for rehabilitation. We had to take a little break between our second and third lesson but when we were ready to return, she was responsive and so easy to schedule with. We just finished our third personal lesson with Hannah doing leash training outside on the street in NYC. Clover is immediately better at walking and I feel more capable with her amazing guidance and support. I truly believe that if you're a prepared dog owner, have the right dog for you (i.e. not a giant powerful dog that needs a job at all times and not appropriate for NYC apartment life), and are willing to take ownership that it takes work and dedication to train a dog well, you can have an amazing experience with a dog trainer, but you should still go to the best and that is definitely Hannah Richter. Cannot wait to do more lessons and start agility training this spring! Thank you Hannah!

Lara from Andrea Arden was everything we wanted and more from a private lesson on how to train our puppy. She was thoughtful and ensured we understood the lessons and our pup responded to her (and us) in a way that we thought would never happen. I am writing this review five days after our first session and I can tell you Lara's lessons have made a true difference in this short time. We had an amazing experience with Hannah! She is incredibly knowledgeable about dog training and extremely thorough. We had several private sessions and each one built upon what we had learned in the prior session. We learned so much at each session and received a summary after each one that gave us clear direction for when we practiced. Our dog made great progress and continues to do so. Hannah’s expertise was invaluable!
