Program details
This is the beginning of obedience work. Every dog should be proficient in these basic skills. It will make him/her a welcome companion anywhere, any time. Novice is taught in 8 private lessons. You get a written lesson plan and lessons are planned according to your calendar. Lessons are paid for at the end of each lesson, not in advance.
This is the second level of obedience. OPEN involves retrieving dumbbells on the flat, over jumps, down on recall, and heeling off-lead. This is very gratifying and fun work not only for your dog but you also! OPEN prepares your dog for our MOVIE DOG Class

This is a one-time counseling session designed for the family who is anticipating the arrival of a new puppy. We go over all the things that are normal and natural for a puppy to do but which can be expensive and annoying. We will show you how to set up a "management system" in your home so that all his/her needs are covered, from house breaking to the dreaded "separation anxiety". The puppy has a few basic needs and if we are aware of them and fulfill them then everyone lives happily ever after.

Dogs that have completed Novice and Open classes are eligible for Search and Rescue training. These dogs are trained to the point of qualifying for the national certification of "Mission Ready". This class lasts for an extended period of time, depending on the talent of the dog and handler.

This is one session only. It is for dogs that are competent in Novice and it is designed to prepare the dog to pass the test given by Therapy Dogs International.

Come to one of their dog walks and see the result of their training. The human education of how to interact with dogs and the exuberant response of the dogs is proof positive of the application of their 50 years of animal behavior molding of both the dog and humans they live with. Professional, interactive, process with rapid results, often observed after first session. Just do it.

We rescued two puppies four years ago — mind you my husband and I were in our late 60s. One day while trying to walk these two pups in the desert wash by our house, I happened Aline Jones and her young Doberman. She saw me struggling with our pups, Sage and Blu, and I commented on how well-behaved her dog was. Well, turns out she is one member of a family who own Animal Actors of Arizona! Best day of our lives and the lives of our dogs. I came back home, read up on their philosophy and immediately called to meet with Aline to discuss having them train our dogs (or was it more about training us). We have owned three other dogs and taken them to various other training programs but nothing compares to the success we have had with Aline’s guidance. One of the best benefits of Animal Actors of Arizona is that once your dogs have “graduated”, you and they are invited to join in any and all Dog Walks held through out the year. There is no additional fee for attendance and it’s a wonderful way to stay connected with this excellent training group. I highly recommend them to anyone serious about having well-trained dogs in their lives.
