Ann Arbor Dog Training Club

My husband and I took The 12-18week puppy training class on Friday nights For four weeks With our puppy. The frustrating part of the classes was that each week there was a different set of instructors. The first three weeks all of the trainers were very nice and very patient. I would give the first three weeks five stars! We learned so much and it was a great environment to be in. Very kind staff who took the time to answer questions and help solve challenges and over come issues. However, The fourth and final week the instructor was very abrasive and did not give any helpful advice. She was just full of criticism and blaming the owners for the dog behavior. The slogan of the Ann Arbor dog club is “ We train you to train your dog”. The instructor in the final week of class did not make an effort to train us, she just made it a point to show off her dog training skills and than not answer any questions, and just lecture us about what leashes to buy, And proceeded to imply that our dogs issues are due to our actions as owners and she did not give any solutions on how to fix these actions, she would just take your dog and do the action with your dog as if to point out that you are the problem, not the dog. Which is fine to say that we were there to learn too, but we were not being taught in the last session, just Abrasively criticized. Again, the first three weeks were great and really taught us a lot. The first three weeks all of the instructors were 5 stars. We (and our puppy) learned a ton, on how to stay consistent and some solutions to the challenges we were having. How ever, the last week really put a sour taste in our mouths. We left upset with the way we were treated and feeling discouraged from continuing to learn from this club.
