ARF Inc Dog Training

I had an unpleasant experience with the proprietor on the first day of class. She went around the room mentioning traits of different breeds, such as the energy of terriors. I brought a 6 mo. old female rescue Catahoula we'd adopted. Her foster parents had adored her and considered keeping her. My dog was singled out as "a black dog whom people would not like and would fear." I wish you could have seen this "fearsome" puppy. Confident, friendly to all, playful with other dogs, as she remains. I treated her words neutrally, determined to benefit from her experience and wisdom until the class about 6 mos in during which my dog appeared to be nervous. instead of provjectvishe separated us from the rest of the group and asked me to take my dog to a fenced area away from the others.
