Art of the Dog Canine Academy

We could not be more thankful for our experience with Art of The Dog! Our Goose was struggling with fear and resource aggression before beginning his program. With time, patience, and care, the employees at Art of The Dog helped provide us and Goose with the tools he needed to live a more fulfilling life. In the weeks we’ve had Goose home, we’ve seen an entirely different boy. He’s able to relax more, follows commands more effectively, and is able to bypass old triggers without a passing glance. I would recommend this program to anyone in a heartbeat!

After going through 7 trainers and being told my year old rescue Golden Retriever would need to be re-homed. My description for him was always that he was a Terrorist. He pulled me down several times, he was reactive to other dogs, so walks were a nightmare. I don't have a yard, we have to walk on the Highline or a park several times a day.He actually passed basic obedience and on the last day lunged at other dogs. I finally tried Art of the Dog. The idea of leaving him for 4 weeks was painful. I fully accepted an e-collar would be part of the training. The neighbors are all impressed! He walks nicely on leash, obeys commands and comes when called, even if chasing a rabbit. Unfortunately, he is still reactive do other dogs. One of the fantastic promises of the Academy is to never leave you. In the 6 months since he came home, we have had 4 private sessions. Gumby now has a dog friend in the neighborhood with whom we can walk. Walking in the park is still a challenge but is 95% better. I'm totally optimistic he's going to be perfect at some point. To be clear, it takes a lot of work on the part of the owner to ensure all the training sticks. There have been times when I have slacked off and he takes full advantage of going back to his Terrorist ways. Art of the Dog saved my dog and me. He's a sweet, happy Golden with just a few quirks to work out. I completely recommend Art of the Dog. It is worth the cost, time and effort if you love your dog.

Choosing Art of the Dog to train my 7 month old pup Elliot has been life changing! When she started training she was a timid girl, too afraid to walk out the front door. This made getting her exercise very challenging. Now she'll walk around City Park like a big girl! I'm so grateful to Will, her trainer, and the rest of the staff at AOTD for their kindness and compassion. Elliot has been home a month and they continue to reach out to check on her. I highly recommend trusting your pup to Art of the Dog!

I usually don’t leave reviews but I’m pleased with AOD! I did the Behavior Program for my lovely dog Milo. I have to say I’m very impressed and happy with the results, now I’m able to take Milo on a walk without worrying I’ll be dragged lol. I initially spoke to Ian, he was very pleasant and friendly over the phone and explained everything thoroughly. Marcos was the main trainer for Milo, he was exceptional, very communicative. I’m happy for making this decision!
