Art of the Dog Canine Academy

We have a reactive dog who struggled with walks, people coming over and any kind of community outings. He would seem viscous to people at our door. He was so difficult to take places that we just stopped trying . We found Art of the Dog and are so grateful that we did. We met with them to discuss Hank’s issues our needs and how their program could help us. We were so relieved to be heard without judgement and told that there was a solution. So we made the decision to move forward. It was tough being without our dog! Art of the Dog knows what the parents need during the training. Every weekday we were given updates on his progress, with pictures and videos of his training sessions and his weight. We were provided instructional videos daily to educate us on the how and why behind what he was learning. He graduated the program and we were given a lesson on his new language at a local park, we walked him and were shown how to keep his focus with distractions around him. We had plenty of time to talk and ask questions. His trainers, River and Victoria have answered questions throughout his program and since we’ve been home! Art of the Dog will continue to help us when we struggle for the rest of our pups life! If anyone has a reactive or challenging dog, we highly recommend Art of the Dog! They’ve given us a way to communicate with our dog to correct his behavior when he’s scared, unsure or just being an asshole! He’s very well trained and now we need to catch up. Again, so grateful for Art of the Dog and their commitment to improving the lives of reactive dogs and their families!

Fantastic. Trainer Juan transformed Freddie's walk and impulse control. When I was diagnosed with herniated discs, I was worried I would never walk Freddie again - because of Juan, Fred and I get to enjoy many more adventures. Juan was very communicative (it was clear Freddie had an absolute blast, which put us at ease) with photos daily and patient with us during our training / graduation session. We waited to do this because of the cost - I'm telling you, don't wait. It's worth every penny.

We enrolled Bennie in board and train less than 2 months ago to help with severe leash reactivity that made taking him across the street a nerve-wracking ordeal. Today we completed a 2.5 mile walk around a busy park, incident free! Attentiveness from the staff is next level, from the initial consult to daily updates, from rushing Bennie to an emergency vet for a small wound that appeared on his leg to follow-ups after training. We trust them wholeheartedly. Could not recommend them enough for any dog with leash reactivity. Bennie returned more calm and confident, but with his goofy and affectionate personality fully intact. Make sure to stay diligent with the training afterwards, because it will pay off immensely.
