Today we had a chance to pick our puppy up from spending almost a month with Amanda for basic training. Within a few minutes, I knew we had found the best trainer ever! Agapē was so responsive to Amanda, and I couldn’t believe how much he learned in such a short amount of time. The thing that impressed me the most was the constant positive praise she gave our puppy. Every single command was followed up with an abundance of praise, and you could just see how proud this puppy was. We will continue to work with Amanda as she helps us train Agapē to become a deep pressure therapy dog. Amanda has definitely found her calling, and she has such a gift of working with dogs and people. She was also super patient with us as she taught us how to work with Agapē on his new skills. Since he has been home this evening, we continue to say to one another, “Can you believe how well behaved Agapē is?” We are amazed and would recommend Amanda’s training to anyone! We are so grateful and impressed.

I could only say good things about Amanda and ASA Service Dogs team. I researched many organizations and places where to find a seizure response service dog for our three year old. Everything was explained in detail and Amanda worked with us via email to take care of all the paperwork. Our daughter finally has her service dog and we are completely happy of how well trained he is and such a sweet dog. The process took about 18 months and it was definitely worth the wait. I have had my mobility support service dog, Atlas, since the end of May 2021. Atlas has been an incredible addition to my life. I knew he would be so greatly beneficial, but he has helped me in ways I never expected. He has given me the independence to go many places without having to use my wheelchair or someone’s hand, because he is with me. That independence is priceless. Throughout the entire process from submitting my application all the way to receiving Atlas, Amanda was there for every step. We had many conversations to make sure my Training Plan and tasks Atlas would perform are exactly what I need. Amanda answered all of my questions throughout the process and even kept me updated on Atlas’ progress throughout his training. Atlas is an incredibly solid service dog who loves his job and is great at it. Amanda is great at making sure the dog she selects for you fits you and your needs perfectly. She dedicates everything to training the dog for you and making sure that when training is complete, you have a solid service dog to add to your home. Since Atlas came home I have been able to ask Amanda questions and have an open dialogue about any concerns I’ve had. We’ve even been to a few training classes for refresher training or to work on small things. These classes are free refreshers for the working life of the dog! I highly, highly recommend ASA Service Dogs if you are looking for a service dog for yourself or a loved one. Amanda makes every step of the process seamless!

I highly recommend ASA for service dog training! Amanda worked with me to train my dog to be a medical alert and response service dog, which has changed my life and given me more independence. Amanda is knowledgeable, personable, and has an amazing way with dogs. Not only did she teach my dog all the needed skills, she also taught me how to be a responsible and confident handler. Scheduling training appointments to fit my schedule was easy and training prices were very reasonable. I cannot thank ASA enough for all they have done for me and my dog!

Edit: Forgive the essay, but I’ve worked with ASA Service dogs and Amanda for over a year now. I was initially paired with a dog who was not the right fit for me. I addressed my concerns to Amanda and she did everything to make it right. I now count myself lucky for the hiccup because it led to my current service dog, Barkley. Barkley is extremely well trained and smarter than plenty of humans I know 😆 He bonded to me almost instantly- within a day. It’s a life-changing moment when a dog like Barkley recognizes that he’s here to be with you and help you through your most difficult days. The benefits of having that kind of support system are incalculable. But service dogs are hard to come by and often harder to raise funds for. I was genuinely surprised at how affordable ASA prices their pups (relative to every other SD organization I’ve ever seen in the U.S.). Amanda will work with you before during and after you get your new teammate. I highly encourage you to ask any and every question as you go through this journey. Amanda will 100% be there to address any concerns or inquiries. On a personal note, having been through this process twice now, I can officially say that Amanda is one of the kindest individuals in existence and her passion for this work and these dogs is palpable. I am so grateful that I found ASA Service Dogs and that Barkley was assigned to me. He is perfect, and helping me tremendously in varied and sometimes surprising ways. I have had my Hippo for only six days. We have already bonded, he’s integrated into my home where another dog lives, he’s performing every task, and rather importantly he has already helped me and by doing his job alleviated my symptoms.
