I did a consultation today and from the jump you can see they are super knowledgeable and professional they were very kind to my dog and very thorough with explaining everything to me and answering my questions they make it clear they are available to you and the program also seems great and thorough. I am still evaluating if for my situation i can invest the money in my older dog but if I choose to do the training I would come here and would recommend them to someone who asked me.

I was recommended Juan and AsgerK9 from a coworker who said that Asger's prices were competitive; and that they were, but that came with its own price. Most trainers will run you around $5,000 so Juan and his company's price is definitely appealing but don't let that fool you. He will also sell you on the fact that it is a lifetime training guarantee and should your dog misbehave, regress or you need further training, you can bring them back whenever. Although this is true, I can attest you will not want to return your dog to him. We took our 8 month old puppy for a 3 week board and train. We specifically asked for 3 things (which after speaking with multiple trainers, should have been accomplished in 2 weeks): loose leash walking, making sure she does not jump on anyone and stop resource guarding. We have a Fi tracker collar on her (which tracks both sleep and activity) and it had shown that for the first 2 days, she had slept for more than 20 hours and only had 600 steps. For reference, on a normal 15 min walk, she will do about 2,000 steps, meaning she was in the crate for most of the time. Juan will tell you he has multiple trainers, which is true, but he is also housing and training close to 30 dogs. Meaning, your dog will be crated with at least 10 other dogs as they cry and wine while crated. Our dog was always very calm around other animals and ever since we boarded her with AsgerK9, she now is reactive to most animals, so much so, that she cannot see a dog on the TV or she launches at it. They promise you daily updates, that does not happen. We had to ask for pictures or videos and it would take them 2 days. We had my partners mom essentially go pick her up because the collar showed no activity and of course that day they just so happen to have "loaded her in the van for training." Much to my partners opposition we left her to keep training. After 2 weeks we went to go visit her and what was the first thing she did when she saw a mother and son duo who were purchasing a dog from them? She jumped on them out of excitement. She also ran towards the puppy to go play. So in 2 weeks she learned nothing. We were so unsatisfied, we had his mother call my dogs trainer (Mind you it was 11 in the morning) to see what was going on and he was not coming in to train until 4 and then had to leave again at 6 to train to other dogs. That means out of the supposed 14 hours that they train, my dog would be getting 1 1/2. We called Juan to get a refund and take the dog home, he insisted that we follow through because "in that last week, everything will come together." Also, a lie. We took her home and delivered her to them daily for a week because I was tired of having her boarded for so long considering he only trained her for minimal hours. Just to wrap it all up, he sent her trainer for home visits to train us on how to handle her. At one point, even the trainer (who insisted she can off leash) couldn't wrangle her in after 15 min. He also tugged on her prong collar so hard that she yelp and then would not move from behind our legs because she was so scared. Despite what they will tell you, they train too many dogs, do no prioritize your animal. On top of everything, Juan has to be one of the most unprofessional people I have ever met. He is both egotistical and not self-aware. He came to our house to make us prove to him that she was not trained and insisted that we were deliberately failing at executing his "training" measures just to be difficult and get our money back.Because we would waste our time, money and traumatize our dog on purpose? Our dog was visibly fearful of him and his answer was "dogs don't understand fear, it's fight or flight and she just respects me more." One of the most ignorant things I have ever heard.  We paid for the boarding but eventually, after much back and forth, received a refund for the training. The team took care of our dog in the sense that she was taken out for potty breaks, fed and bathed. But training? Absolutely not. Stay away from this company if you can.
