We had tried another trainer for what we were looking for in our pup and it fell through. What a blessing in disguise! We came across kiwi’s dog training academy and contacted Kirstie, who returned our call immediately, and worked with us to accommodate schedules and our dogs needs very efficiently. We did the e collar with boarding training for 16 days and what an amazing experience it was! Our dog went from a tough on leash walker, very impulse excited dog to a very obedient and socially behaved within just that time! The constant updates and communication about our dogs progress and all the fun he was having was a treat to see throughout everyday! Couldn’t recommend anyone better!

Kirstie has a truly unique gift for training dogs—as well as their owners— and our experience has changed both dog and these owner’s lives! Our dog has been transformed from an over-excited, giant puppy requiring a harness and a prong collar for walks on leash to a well-mannered, well-socialized and extremely responsive gentleman-of-a-dog off leash in just 16 days! The respect the dogs have for Kirstie is evidenced by how well they all listen to and obey her at the drop of a hat. She opened up her day to day life to us while our dog was boarding with her, including us in her pack walks while teaching my boyfriend and I how to better communicate with and understand our dog. Our families, friends, and neighbors could not be more impressed and we could not be more proud to show off her hard work with our dog. The updates provided from the trainers point of view and then from our dog’s(!!) point of view were not only priceless but daily reassurances that our dog was living his best life! Kirstie has forever changed our lives for the better!

We hired Kirstie to train our 3 year old corgi (Kayda) and our puppy Australian Shepard/ spaniel mix (Kenzo). Kayda had issues with stubbornness/ refusing to listen. Kenzo was excited/reactive on a leash as well as a huge leash puller, scared of kids and just untrained in general. We told Kirstie our concerns and what we wanted to see results with and worked out a schedule that worked for us. Once training began we saw quick results. In just two weeks Kirstie taught our dogs how to walk on a loose leash in a heel command, to pass by dogs on walks without freak outs, to come back when called and more. She even crate trained Kenzo. She did all of this through positive training. Through the training program, our dogs were able to be safely socialized with other dogs and de-sensitized to a lot of triggers. And the dogs LOVE going to camp. They have such a fun time and always come back exhausted. It’s clear Kirstie cares for each dog individually and loves them like her own. Training made our dogs more well behaved, but it did not change their personalities- they still have fun and run around but now they respect us and are obedient to commands. Our dogs are all done with training now, but they still go to camp to play with other trained dogs and see their friends. Kirstie is amazing at what she does and we highly recommend her services.

Kirstie is so exceptional that we would need to invent new superlatives to adequately describe all that she gives of herself to care for and train her dogs. Whenever our puppy sees Kirstie, she literally jumps into Kirstie’s arms. And for good reason. Kirstie has been nothing short of a godsend for us as older adults who have had our share of medical emergencies. For that reason we have turned to Kirstie more times than we could have imagined for support, and she has been steadfast in her willingness to be there for us, and for our little Lulu. Kirstie’s unconventional technique is almost magical. She infuses into her dog training and boarding programs a true sense of love and adventure. That, I think, is what sets her apart. Our Lulu has so many “friends” to play with, and because Kirstie keeps her clients updated with videos of their dogs during outings and trainings, we get to see how happy Lulu and friends seem to be, and how they each receive Kirstie’s encouragement and affection. We heard about Kiwi's from multiple people we bumped in to on walks. Their dogs were so well behaved and we were struggling with our Beagle puppy. The one thing they had in common? Their dogs had been to Kiwi's. Well to say we were amazed is an understatement. Timmy came back unrecognizable. Before he would run off in our yard, jump fences chasing bunnies, counter surf, grab food out of our hands and pull on a leash. Now he waits patiently for food, comes when calls and we walk him OFF LEASH every day and he never tries to escape. Obviously as a beagle it is in his nature to hunt so we never in our wildest dreams imagined we could walk him off leash. It has changed our lives and his and he is so happy as are we. Kirstie is amazing and I cannot recommend her enough. We are so blessed to have found her and have her in our lives. She is so dedicated and clearly loves all her dogs. She texts videos and pictures and was really patient with us and teaching us how to maintain his behavior and is always there to help us as and when we need.
