B.A.R.K. Institute

Having a working breed dog, I knew I needed to find the right balance of physical and mental training, along with love, patience, and understanding. Moose, my male Doberman, has been with B.A.R.K. since he was 8 months old, and I truly could not be happier with our experience. We’ve utilized the day training program, group classes, and Moose has even gone on a field trip to Philadelphia; something I never thought I’d be comfortable with. Now, I would trust this team with him anywhere. Jamie has created such a family-like atmosphere. From drop-off with Jose to pick-up with Jess or Sean, I always know Moose is in the best hands. Jess has become part of Moose’s family and is officially “Auntie Jess.” I would never trust just anyone with my high-energy boy, but they are absolutely incredible with him. Not only have they helped train and shape Moose, but they’ve helped train me as a handler as well. I have recommended B.A.R.K. to multiple people and they have fallen in love with this team as well! If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would.

My 5 year old corgi, Sully, was having issues with biting, reactivity and separation anxiety. It had gotten unmanageable and I knew we had to do something before it got worse. Our first meeting with Jamie, the owner of B.A.R.K., was great! She identified that Sully would need to work on his confidence and from there he would be able to address the other issues. We signed him up for a 6 week board / train at the B.A.R.K. Institute facility. I was nervous about leaving him for 6 weeks and not being able to see him, but with their boarding / training, I would see him at 3 weeks and would learn some of the training that they had done with him. During the 3 week session, I could already see differences in how Sully was walking on the leash and responding to commands. I was really encouraged by all the work that his trainer, Jessica, had been doing with him. Finally, Sully came home and immediately I felt like I was seeing a totally different dog. He wasn't pulling on the leash, running or barking at other dogs or people. I was able to walk comfortably with Sully by my side with minimal corrections. At home, Sully has stopped barking and freaking out whenever I leave the house and his reactivity to a knock on the door has dropped significantly. I cannot thank Jessica and the team at B.A.R.K. enough for all their caring and hard work to get me and Sully to this point. Throughout the entire experience they would send me updates and photos of Sully as he completed his training and I always felt confident that he was learning but also enjoying himself. I would definitely recommend B.A.R.K. Institute for anyone who needs help with their pup or just a refresh.
