B The Leader Dog Training

My girlfriend and I came to Julia over two months ago and the results we've seen with our two dogs are jaw dropping...to say the least. We adopted a 4 year old Boarder Collie, German Shepherd, Rott Mix from the Oregon Humane Society over two years ago. Oakley is the best dog in the entire world, but he has an aggression/dominance issue when it comes to the first initial meet with another dog as well as separation anxiety. We used to be so nervous and hesitant walking him around the neighborhood or near parks where there could be other dogs around, especially ones off-leash, because we didn't know how to deal with his initial excitement. Julia introduced us to a prong collar. Before I continue, I must say before-Julia we thought the prong collar had absolutely no reason being around a dog's neck. Post-Julia we've realized that a prong collar, when used CORRECTLY, is simply a way of getting your dogs attention and mimic's the gentle "bite" a momma dog would do. Now we can walk around with him in full excitement mode around new dogs and know that we have the knowledge, tools, and resources to correct his behavior in a proper manner. We take Oakley to Julia's Saturday and Monday play-groups every week. We put a muzzle collar on him for assurance and keep the leash attached to his pronged collar. We've been doing this for about a month, now within the first 30 minutes of play group, now can take the muzzle and leash off and know he's calmed down and in a playful state of mind. For his separation anxiety, Julia taught us about boundaries and how important they are for a dog. Oakley was the easy part... We rescued an 8 week old German Shepherd, Keeshond, Husky mix from a rescue outside Eugene. Because she was taken from her mom far too soon, she was incredibly insecure within herself which led to aggression towards other dogs and extreme fear towards humans and loud noises. Nori has been coming to Julia's play groups twice a week. The first three weeks she was backed up to the fence with a lot of fear and with a muzzle because she was biting the other pups. Since that fourth week at Julia's play-group she has gained so much confidence within herself and her surroundings! She goes up to people and want's them to pet her, something she absolutely hated, and she's even used as a "support dog" for other pup's who are feeling scared and/or insecure now. This only touches on the surface on how much Julia's taught us as owners and how much we've been able to teach our pups. They come when called, sit, stay, heel, wait, let us go through a door before them, sit and wait patiently when we have guest arrive until we say they can "come say hello," etc. ALL AFTER THE FIRST COMMAND! And your dog can totally behave the exact same way if you learn from Julia yourself. Absolutely everyone who knew our pups before Julia have raved about how much they've seen them grow and advance. We used to go to the PetSmart training groups they hold at their stores, but never again! Not when you can learn from the brains, the training, and the miles that Julia has.
