I lasted about 10 minutes with this trainer before it was a hard pass. Main reasons why I would not recommend this trainer to anyone- 1. Sara was not professional. She did not introduce herself to me, my children or my dog. This may work for some people, but I would love for my trainer to have a relationship with all parties involved since we are all working towards the same goal. My children walked up to the fence by her “trained” dogs and were immediately scolded by her. I get that kids should ask before petting dogs but there was a fence separating them and I assumed her dogs were trained so I didn’t think about keeping the kids away. That was my mistake. And also…she could have just kindly asked. 2. She was much more rough with my dog than I was comfortable with. I get all trainers have their different styles and hers doesn’t align with mine. She said she didn’t want to play tug of war with the leash with my dog (English Bulldog) but that is what she proceeded to do multiple times. One time she yanked so hard that my dog fell to her side and was pulled by Sara. Within minutes of being there, Sara roughly poked my dog in the side multiple times. I think dogs pick up on energy, and Sara’s energy was much more aggressive than I was comfortable with. 3. I was looking specifically for help with fear aggression training for my dog. When we approached the fence, HER dog showed more aggression than mine. And then my dog was reprimanded many times because she kept getting distracted by all of Sara’s dogs. (Showed no aggressive behavior). I am not a professional, just my opinion - if a dog is having trouble with other dogs, putting them immediately by other dogs without getting to know them or other basic obedience understanding is kind of setting the dog up to fail. Again…this may work for other people, it did not for me. All in all, I would give 0 stars if I could. She called me after I left and didn’t even give me a chance to say anything before she wanted to defend herself and her training. I have been on the hunt for a good trainer for my dog and have met with a few. She made it a very easy decision for me in hiring someone else. Dog Training Elite is a MUCH better option if you are needing someone. Their dogs are actually trained, they are professional and most importantly, they genuinely seem to like dogs and kids. :)

Sara is very knowledgeable and answers all our questions and concerns kindly. She knows how to change the training to custom work with our dog. She has a very good system, and we are looking forward to continuing our training with her. She has helped us feel confident in our efforts, and we love working on our homework. She involves our kids in the training, so we can all help and be consistent. I highly recommend Sara and Bakers Acres.

I called Sara at Baker’s acres to help me with my new puppy who was having difficulty with potty training, nipping, and jumping up on me. He was showing me a lack of respect and being very demanding of my time: just not having good manners basically. She gave me great tips and one in particular that changed everything for the better.. that was: just like a baby needs to go down for a nap, put your puppy down for a nap and he will be more focused and calmer, less agitated, and boy was she right! I have a different dog! He is obedient, he’s focused, his manners have improved 100% on just one simple thing: getting enough sleep. He goes into his kennel without any problems. After implementing the other techniques Sara modeled for me, my new puppy now is more respectful of me as well and does not do any of the bad behaviors he was displaying. 🎉
