Balanced K9 Academy

Balanced K-9 is a highly knowledgeable training facility. Also climate controlled. We took 2 six month old German Shepherd Female sisters, with (Litter Mate Syndrome). We are very satisfied. Nick has established, through experience, along with Alec, a very successful training program. Both their military training experiences with canines is well recognizable in the animals responses. We spent over two hours with Alec actually training us how to interact with the canines when we picked them up. We learned the social behavior, and how to re-direct their energy to achieve our goals. Alec explained why canines present challenges to us, and how to modify that behavior, and why that modification is necessary. Alec had us go through everything they had learned, and make them carry out each specific task. I have raised many bird dogs over the years. These gentlemen's military experience with canines puts them on a whole different level of training standards with successful outcomes. We are well pleased, and highly recommend them. Sampson is a 2 year old Malinois / GSD mix. His Sire was a Police K9 (Malinois), so he is pretty high drive for a family dog. Before starting this journey, Sampson was very protective and aggressive towards other dogs and people. I contacted the team at Balanced K9 and explained the situation, Nick suggested that we enroll in private lessons. During the first session Nick and Alec showed Sampson what it was like to lose. Sampson attempted to test them 14 times that session, all resulting in a loss. They taught him what was acceptable and what wasn't. Sampson walked out of training that day a changed dog. On the next session, Sampson only attempted to test them 2 times. We are now walking around Lowes and socializing with the neighbors. Balanced K9 has already exceeded all expectations that I had prior to starting training. The team is actually guiding and training me as a handler, constantly pushing me outside my comfort zone, which has really built my confidence. If you are on the fence about private lessons, don't hesitate, do it! As a side note, be prepared to put in the work and trust the trainers process.
