Barb Levenson Dog Training Centers

I have trained 5 German Shepherd dogs with Barb over a period of 25 years. My most recent puppy has struggled with dog sensitivity. Barb has spent so much time coming up with a specialized training program that has yielded great results. We just had a great class... I had a happy, bright-eyed, working pup... something we could not achieve before. I am so thrilled! It was lots of work but well worth it. One of the things I’ve learned over the years with Barb, is how to read the signals my dog is giving me, and how to try and come up with positive solutions.

Barb is a con artist and a fraud. She hides behind a "refund policy" by making you sign off on a credit card authorization form to secure your appointment, but even if you have a legitimate reason to cancel well before 24 hours and ask to reschedule she still charges your credit card regardless of whether she provides any service. She even goes to the extent of forging your initials on the form to get away with it. She's only interested in your money & not helping dogs. If I could post no stars I would. She's a crook.

I went to Barb because I believe in positive reinforcement training, I wish I hadn't wasted my time and money. Classes moved slow we covered very little information in an 8 week time period. I dreaded going every week. Barb is flat out rude, she presents information as if you should already know it. She was so kind as to point out to me that her dog was better trained than mine (she is a dog trainer?). If I asked her a question that wasn't strictly about information being taught in the class instead of being helpful she would tell me to schedule an appointment for a private lesson. She would spend class time (that we paid good money for) talking about her other students and how poorly they were doing. I found this to be very unprofessional and frankly uncomfortable. These people were coming to her for help and all she could to was speak negatively of them during class! I could go on. There are many other trainers in the area who use positive reinforcement, I found a great one and I urge you to also look elsewhere!

I only give Barb one star, because that’s the minimum required to write a review. Barb has no manners. I felt verbally attacked during a private lesson with her and left in tears. When I emailed her to tell her that her class wasn’t a good fit for me and my pup, she followed up with more than one aggressive email telling me that I don’t care about my dog. Since then, our dog had been doing awesome with a sweet trainer who works one on one with us and has all the patience in the world! You can find a better trainer out there. If you’re reading this, pleeeeease don’t give this woman your business. I can nearly guarantee that you will regret it like we did.
