I highly recommend Dana! She is amazing with the dogs and with the humans! She has a very gentle approach to training and you can really see the changes in your dog almost immediately. She teaches you how to understand your dog and how to be the best dog parent. She came to help us with a very rambunctious (and cute) 6mo Bernedoodle who was nibbling, jumping and taking over our house. Now we have a dog that actually listens to commands without loosing his spunkiness, and puppy energy. Training is a constant work and we know we can count on Dana if we ever need her again! If I could, I would give Dana twice as many stars. I have a rescue who was not socialized when she was young. She was dumped in the woods when she was born, rescued at 3 months by some little kids, and then in a shelter until 8 months old. She was scared of absolutely everything when I got her. I first tried one of the residential training programs, but some of the means they used were detrimental to a dog that was already fearful of everything. Lucky for me, I kept running into Dana training other dogs in the neighborhood, and after numerous conversations, decided to give her a chance. That was 4 years ago, and she's been with us ever since! Dana only uses positive reinforcement training practices, and although we discussed that it would take longer, it has truly been the best thing for us. She has helped us realize Cleo's potential and at the same time, her limitations. Knowing and understanding those limitations has been crucial in ensuring her happiness. So much of Cleo's issue is confidence, which is why we've continued to have Dana come weekly, long after the basic training was done. And it has paid off. I should also mention that Cleo is my first dog ever, so much of the training has been educating me. These days, we spend an hour each week, hiking through the woods and letting Cleo play in a creek (she used to be afraid of the water). She has learned to interact with others (both dogs and humans) in an acceptable manner, and has come so far that I do not fear her around my grandson at all. The only problem with him, is she just wants to give him kisses constantly! I would highly recommend Dana, and will continue to use her for as long as I can.

I have used Bark & Purr’s pet sitting services since 2020 (3 years!) Dana (the owner) has taken care of my 2 cats over several trips and has always done an amazing job. I’m so thankful to have found a reliable and trustworthy sitter in the area. Dana has a huge heart and truly cares about animals. Not only has she watched my cats when I’m away, but she has provided me with tons of helpful advice for my cats during times I was struggling with their behaviors. She provides daily updates and also sends the cutest pictures to make you smile when you are missing your fur babies. I know how scary it can be trusting someone with your pet, but I promise you Dana will keep them safe and happy while you’re away. I highly recommend Dana for your dog/cat sitting services! She is truly a wonderful person.
