Bark Busters Lake Norman

The starting point for our pup, Shadow, wasn't too bad. He's a rescue and he's got some little quirks we didn't know how to work out. The training method with bark busters feels so natural and kind. John and Diane made us feel comfortable immediately, so we can be confident in caring for our dog. As first time pet owners, we wanted to do everything right, and with this amazing team I feel sure we are. Not even a week out from our first session, and Shadow is doing much better in the house. We were able to have company over without jumping or any unwanted behaviors. I'm so looking forward to receiving more education on communicating with our boy!

I can’t say enough nice things about John & Diane. They literally changed the doggie dynamic in our household forever. We have 3 dogs and there was a lot of energy, bad behavior and overall animal insanity going on before they came to our home. I got to the point I didn’t enjoy being around our animals because it was so out of control. I never thought I’d say that as an animal lover, but I wasn’t happy with our animals and we desperately needed help. John and Diane came to our home and taught us how to actually communicate with our dogs in THEIR language. Not communicate in OUR human language. So instead of another typical trainer teaching the dog words from the English dictionary and the dog not having a clue what they mean … John and Diane actually taught us how to speak the language dogs have been using with each other for hundreds of years. They first showed us a really neat video of how a dog in the wild would correct her pups. Not surprisingly… the wild dog didn’t use the word “no”. It used a guttural growl from deep down to correct its pup. That’s exactly what John & Diane taught us to do. It made so much sense! We use it now so easily and it is more natural than yelling “no” every few minutes to correct our dogs. Within a few days John & Diane had all of our dogs sitting and waiting to be fed then released one by one by their names. Same for going out the door, they used to zoom out all together. Now they sit and wait; waiting for their names to be called individually. The best thing about their training, it’s for the LIFE of the dog! So even if you need to re-home an animal … the training goes with them to the new owners. I can’t say enough nice things about their service. They are both really sweet to work with and available by text almost 24/7 for a quick question or support. Their training method is so different than most, but it makes the most sense for the dogs and at the end of the day that’s all that matters. Communicating and creating a better relationship with our pets. I’ve recommended them to so many people, I truly believe they are the best!

Diane and John are absolutely amazing! We have had an amazing experience with their expertise and advice on how to properly train our dog Rocky. The investment is 1000% worth it, we love that they explain the behavior behind the dogs actions and show us properly how to communicate and correct Rocky effectively. Look no further… these are the trainers you want AND need! We adopted a sweet 6 month old rescue last summer and knew we wanted to receive training. After extensive research on different trainers and styles in the area, it sounded like BarkBusters would be a good fit. From the first session, we saw an immediate change in Foxie’s behavior. John and Diane taught us how to communicate with her and she was immediately responsive. Here we are not even 6 months later and Foxie does not run out the front door when guests arrive, she no longer jumps up to greet people, she does not bark at other dogs or people on our walks, and she sits and waits for her food, treats, and toys! We officially have the perfect pup and it’s all thanks to John and Diane teaching us how to communicate with Foxie.

Bark Busters is worth every last penny!!! John and Diane could not have been more lovely to work with! After our first session at our home, we can already see such a difference and a calmness/relaxation in our dog because we were taught how to speak her language so effectively. John and Diane came so prepared for our first training session, had a lovely presentation put together to start, and are just so sweet and incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the work they’re doing. They really are dog whisperers! We can’t wait for our second follow up session in a few weeks, but the tools and drills that we have already been taught have made SUCH a difference in just that first 3 hour training session!
