I have not used Bay Kennels for boarding, but I did buy my golden retriever here and he is now 13 1/2. He is the BEST dog I have ever known and he is a big part of our family. He has a great personality and is intelligent, strong, and doing so well even at an older age. At times in the past, BK has not had golden retriever puppies (and he has a little brother from another breeder), but when I'm ready to add another puppy, I'm definitely going here.
Bought two beautiful two golden retriever puppies from there. Love these two little girls.
Please please listen to the other reviews about the abusive treatment. He uses choke chains to an extreme!!!! Our dog had blood shot eyes and was extremely skinny after 3 weeks of an 8 week training session. She was sore and inflamed on her hips and ribs. Our dog was not herself and we pulled her from the program after witnessing some abusive behavior. Her nose was dry and extremely hot which leads me to believe that she had not had a lot to drink or eat.
I took two of my dogs to Bay Kennels for an 8 week in-house training. Both are high energy pups about 1 year old. Phil has a very firm technique that my puppies needed and he has done wonders with them. I would definitely recommend him for larger dog breeds especially. I would definitely take another dog to him!
