She not only helped train our new puppy, but also taught our whole family how to better communicate with and handle her. Lucy’s behavior had become so aggressive that everyday life felt stressful. I was constantly on edge, especially on walks, constantly scanning for other dogs, always planning escape routes. I’ve been working with **Be The Boss Dog Training** for the past 6–7 months with my German Shepherd Pointer puppy, and I honestly can’t recommend them enough. When I got him, he was a 5–6 week old feral stray found in Idaho running along I-80. He had a LOT to learn. We struggled with biting, resource guarding, socializing with dogs and kids, and he was only somewhat okay around cats. He had never been taught how to walk on a leash and would literally drag you down the street . 😂 Fast forward to today: he’s 9 months old and 85 pounds, and the difference is INSANE. He is incredibly respectful around kids and animals — honestly, he’d rather hang out with kids than adults at this point. 😂 He’s AMAZING on a leash. I don’t even have to hold it, and I completely trust him and my E-collar. 😉 He’s also amazing in the house. He rarely barks, waits for permission before greeting people, and has learned how to exist calmly in all kinds of situations. Of course, he’s still a puppy. He’s going to make mistakes — dogs are dogs. But what I’ve learned through Be The Boss is that it’s not about expecting your dog to be perfect. It’s about knowing how to train them, how to react in the moment, and how to set them up for success. And that’s what I love most about Be The Boss. They don’t just train your dog for you — They teach YOU how to train your dog. They give you the tools and mindset that you can carry with you for the rest of your dog’s life, and even with future dogs. I worked with Delaney, and she was seriously the BEST trainer. She took the time to learn how I learn best and helped me work through situations where I probably would have just panicked before. 😂 She didn’t just tell me what to do — she taught me why. Watching how far this dog has come has honestly been incredible, and I know we still have plenty of work ahead of us. I recently had the pleasure of working with Be the Boss Dog Training, and I can't recommend them highly enough! From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. Consultation: The journey began with a phone call with Sid, one of the owners, and then to in-person visit. In both settings, Sid took the time to understand my dog's history, specific challenges, and my goals for training. My Old English Sheepdog, Chief, struggled outside the home and socializing. Sid listened attentively an provided a clear plan tailored to our needs. Training approach: Be the Boss Dog Training offers many opportunities for training, growth, and development for you as the dog owner. We had 4 in-person visits, optional once a month Zoom meetings, and optional on-site group sessions. I attended the optional Zoom meetings and group sessions and they’re really beneficial and fun! My primary dog trainer, Ellie, is kind and amazing to work with. She was very flexible with my schedule and lessons, and would focus our sessions on what was most concerning to me. Our training sessions took place in-home and outside in various scenes. Then there was trainer, Morgs, I worked with. Morgs is awesome, knowledgeable and helped me run through the test components to assess Chief’s readiness to be a therapy dog (one of our goals). They both provided clear guidance and were always available for questions, ensuring I felt supported throughout the process and even after Chief’s graduation! Before and After: Before training, Chief would often launch and pull aggressively during walks especially when there are cars, he did not know how to walk beside me, stay for long periods of time, and socialize with other dogs. I used to be embarrassed, profusely apologizing for his behavior. Now, he’s completely different dog! He walks calmly on leash, responds to commands with ease, we hike together, and is much more relaxed and social with other dogs. We receive so many compliments from others how well behaved he is. A well-trained dog will make your life so much easier and less stressful! Training is a great opportunity to bond with your dog as well. Cost: While investing in dog training can seem daunting, I found the pricing to be fair and reflective of the quality of service provided. Knowing that I receiving top-notch training for Chief made it all worthwhile. To get a great return on your investment, you **need** to put in the time to continually train your dog. I trained Chief every opportunity we got even inside our home. Overall, Be the Boss Dog Training, exceeded my expectations, and I am thrilled with the continued progress Chief has made.
