Behavior Plus Dog Training

I’ve been a client of Behavior Plus Dog Training for over 15 years and have gone through the journey with three dogs. I currently have a 15-year-old, a 14-year-old, and a 5-year-old, and the support I’ve received over the years has been nothing short of amazing. For the past three years, I’ve been sending my youngest—my 75-lb pit mix—to their board and train program a couple of days a week, and it has helped me tremendously, especially while working. The trainers are truly incredible: knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely caring. They are always so helpful, and I can reach out at any time if I need advice—they’re always there. I can’t say enough good things about Behavior Plus. Their consistency, expertise, and dedication to both dogs and owners make them stand out. Highly recommend.

I’m leaving this anonymously because, after what I witnessed this morning at the River Edge location, I honestly don’t want to risk any retaliation but I also can’t stay silent. I was getting out of my car with my dog for drop-off when I saw Rob through the glass front of the building. He was clearly angry he threw a wooden gate onto the floor with force, and multiple dogs inside reacted immediately. They crouched, flinched, or tried to get away. It was jarring to see. Even worse he was screaming profanity at the person dropping off their dog. I couldn’t hear every word from outside, but I heard enough. It was aggressive, loud, and totally inappropriate. No one should be treated like that, especially not in front of a group of animals who absorb that stress. There was a shelter van parked outside, dropping off dogs at the same time, while regular clients were also trying to bring in their pets. It was chaos dogs being left unattended, handlers walking dogs, and no one keeping things under control. The owner of the facility was outside walking dogs at the same time, and it didn’t seem like anyone was stepping in to manage what was going on inside. I ended up leaving my dog because I didn’t have an immediate alternative, but I’ll be pulling them out and looking elsewhere. I’ve been uneasy before, but after what I saw today, I can’t pretend this is normal. After reading the first review posted earlier, I have to say the timing lines up with what I saw. If anyone is unsure, I encourage you to ask for the video footage between today’s February 5, 2026, 7:45 and 8:15 AM. That should show everything. Based on what I witnessed, Rob does not seem fit to be working with dogs. His anger, the way he handled that moment, and the lack of control is not something I feel comfortable trusting my pet with anymore.

Posting this anonymously because I’m genuinely concerned about retaliation (either toward me or my dog), but I feel obligated to warn people. This morning, roughly 7:50–8:15 AM, during drop-off, I witnessed the owner and a trainer named Rob outside walking dogs while multiple dogs (around 4–5) were left unattended inside. There were other clients dropping off dogs at the same time. During that window, I also witnessed yelling and profanity directed at a person dropping off, both outside and at the entrance, along with aggressive handling of gates/doors (slamming/throwing), which startled and scared the dogs. The overall energy was chaotic and unsafe not just unprofessional. If you’re considering this facility, I strongly recommend you ask about constant supervision and how dogs are monitored during drop-off. They have cameras. If you were there this morning or you’re a current client, I would request the video footage for 7:50–8:15 AM to see exactly what happened — including the supervision issue and the way staff spoke to clients. I’m sharing this so people can make an informed choice before something worse happens.

I’m incredibly grateful to SABINO for being such an amazing trainer and human being. From the very first session, he made me feel supported, confident, and truly cared for. His passion, patience, and dedication go far beyond a regular training experience. Sabino has an incredible ability to motivate you, believe in you, and push you in ways you didn’t think were possible—always with kindness and encouragement.
