Best By Farr Dog Training

I spent 2 months searching through almost all of the board and train programs in the Phoenix area. I called or emailed with the top 5 companies to ask a few follow up questions and get a sense for their service. I was so blown away by Chris at Best by Farr during our consultation with my pup, Marshall. Chris walked into my house and immediately began assessing and testing Marshall’s temperament and drive. Within 2 minutes I had no doubt he knew my dog and all of his layers better than I did! A complete PRO. The reason I chose Chris and his program was due to the extra layer of handler training in addition to training your dog. He taught Marshall all of the rules within a very simple but effective structure, and made sure Marshall was solid on those commands and behaviors. After three weeks, Marshall came home the best doggo ever, and then my training started! Chris has worked with me every week adding new commands and giving us homework to work on in between handler sessions. He breaks behaviors down into bite sized chunks so they are digestible, and his analogies for how to communicate with your dog are what set his training service apart. Best part is seeing how happy Marshall gets when we are out and about working on our training. He LOVES it! In mid October, my Marshall was an abandoned, emaciated, dirty, street pup with zero training and had never even been indoors before. After partnering with Chris and working together over the past 2 and 1/2 months, this dog is THE BEST COMPANION AND MOST OBEDIENT GENTLEMAN! Stop thinking about it, stop second guessing, stop putting it off, and just do yourself and your dog the favor of hiring Chris. You can’t regret it.

Best By Farr has been great to work with, on getting us set up for a successful, happy, safe home life with our new Rescue pup, Ryder. We did the “Puppy to Big Dog” package, and we noticed a huge change in Ryder’s listening skills and leash skills after just one week. Now that we’re in our Big Dog lessons, with an adult dog... Ryder is just that more obedient and reliable in his command response, and enjoyable to walk. (Chris has his hands full training us, on the other hand...) We recommend Best by Farr to anyone we know looking for training, and just referred some friends who have a new Rottie puppy. They were sold after seeing what he did with our dog, as his training speaks for itself. When we adopt a second dog, we will definitely be back as repeat customers!

We would give 10 stars if we could!! Just about 1 year ago, we rescued not one - but two - 4 month old Ridgeback (hound mix) pups who were HIGHLY energetic and VERY strong, both in determination and physicality. Within the first two weeks, it became evident that even after almost 30 years of marriage and 5 previous dogs, we were up for the challenge of our canine loving lives with these two pups! Walking them on a leash was exhausting and embarrassing as they would pull, bark and lurch forward at every bird, rabbit, dog and person we encountered. Having company was quite the fiasco as they wouldn't let guests in the door without jumping, barking, and tangling themselves up in each and every step made from the front door to the living room. We also had issues with counter and table surfing and seemed to be unable to set boundaries for staying off furniture and away from certain areas of the house/yard, etc. We also have a senior dog (11 year old Boxer). While they seemed to accept and get along well with him, it was difficult to give him the attention he needed without the pups constantly trying to interfere. We needed help! From the minute he entered the house for the initial consultation, we could tell that Chris was the man for the job. The pups immediately seemed to respect and respond to Chris. He calmly and effectively communicated and set boundaries with them which allowed us to have a conversation and learn about his training methods. It was obvious that we had as much to learn as the pups did, so we signed them up for the Puppy to Big Dog Package. We were so shocked at how much we ALL learned after just that first week with Chris. They learned basic commands, and we learned how to communicate with them. It was truly a pleasure to walk them after just one week with Chris, so we couldn't wait until they were able to return for the 3 additional weeks of Big Dog training when they got a few months older. Fast forward almost one year, and we now have 2 very well behaved pups that we can communicate with and feel very comfortable taking to public places. We are walking around the neighborhood, running or hiking on trails filled with other dogs and families, and we're able to greet guests and retrieve numerous packages delivered to our front door during the holiday season while both pups happily and quietly remain in their appropriate place. Rather than being embarrassed and outwardly frustrated by their poor behavior choices, we now often receive compliments on how well behaved they are and how well we are able to communicate with them. The follow up sessions that Chris provided after the pups completed their 3 weeks of Big Dog School were MOST valuable to us as we needed to learn how to communicate with the pups in a way that allows them to make their choices and understand the consequences of their choices, which leads to all of us being a very happy family at the end of each day. We cannot thank Chris enough for teaching us and our pups how to communicate! His knowledge and genuine care for our pups were exemplary, and he truly is a dog (and dog owner) whisperer. We have - and will continue to - highly recommend Best By Farr Dog Training.

Best by Farr has been the best experience dog training I have had in the 25 years of owning dogs. The process was prompt, direct, and very professional. He has taken Dakota from a does not listen husky to a well behaved and on the road to therapy certification. I appreciate all the training he has given me to help sharpen some of my personal rusty spots. Very attentive and accommodating. Responds quickly when questions are asked. He I’ll help with training my new puppy as well. The family couldn’t be more thrilled with what he did with Dakota.
