My husband and I had been indecisive on whether to do board and train for a long time, and with a 6+ year old dog we didn’t know if the benefit would be worth the cost and effort as we knew she is not as trainable as she once would have been. From the consult to the final session, Chris was incredibly professional, treated our pup with the utmost respect as he knew we would want her to treated, delivered on everything he said he would & never sold us false promises or set us up failure, and made the upkeep of his training attainable and understandable even for those with minimal experience. I’m so happy I found Best By Farr Dog Training, and definitely recommend it! This is one of the best decisions you will make for you and your dog. My rescue, Rexi, didn’t listen (even when she knew some of the commands) and didn’t have any manners. Walking her around people and other dogs became so stressful and I wasn’t always able to control her. During the consultation, Chris was really informative about his approach, talked through any concerns I had, and explained dog behavior in a way that made sense by using real-life examples I’d be able to relate to. He understands their behavior and what method to best use for the individual dog’s needs. Rexi went through a 3-week boarding program, and it was so worth it! She is such a different dog, while still being her silly self. Chris kept me in the loop, answered any of my questions, and was very professional. I am so amazed at the dog I got back! Also important to highlight is that with the follow-up sessions, Chris empowered me with the knowledge on how to best handle her and keep her progress and our training going for continued success. This shows me he cares about long-term success (and he’s able to give on-the-spot feedback so that you can continue to get better at giving your dogs commands). Now I’m able to walk her each day, and when people walk by, I am no longer afraid of how she’ll react. She also knowns her commands, and I know how to reinforce / correct them. Each time we practice I get even more excited because it’s becoming more fun than the stress I had before getting her training, which has also helped us bond. I was really nervous about sending my dog, Chewy, away to training at first, but Chris was very professional and would send me updates. We got to visit for a bit on Saturday mornings, as well. Chris was also super quick to respond to any communication attempts that I made. Even better, when I would receive video updates I could see that Chewy was wagging his tail. He enjoyed his training. This helped put me at ease while my boy was away. Now down to what we paid for... I was amazed to see the progress that Chewy made. A lot of people told me that smaller dogs are not as easy to train and that we were wasting our money. That was not the case. My dog is now following all of the commands that larger dogs often do. To help reinforce what Chewy learned at training, we had follow-up training visits, which is helping us to make sure our dog continues with the skills that he has acquired with Chris. I highly recommend Best By Farr Dog Training with Chris! I would definitely refer any friends or family to him who are looking for some structure in their dog's life.

Chris was extremely professional, we loved everything about this experience. Our Draxy is a completely different dog in the best ways, we learned tremendous amount of information that helped us improve our habits with Drax. Every session progressively got better and better these are things we use every day and are grateful for!! We will likely be looking to have our second dog go through the same training. Chris is an awesome dog (and person) trainer. I went with him through a 10 week training program for my 2 German Shepard mixes. When we started training they were about 1 year old. One of my girls has always been a nervous dog and I am amazed what great progress she has made. When I used to take her to the park she was startled by everything, she was unable to focus and listen to me. With what Chris has taught me our time at the park is now stress-free and fun! Through Chris I learned how to communicate with my dogs and to be consistent with corrections and rewards. Both of my dogs will heel, sit, stay, lie down, come and do automatic sits in a busy park and even in new environments. I can take off their leash and they will not chase after other dogs. Chris is always very professional, polite, on time and efficient. Through his clear communication style it is now easier for me to understand the mentality of my dogs and make clear what I do and do not want them to do. I recommend Chris to everyone who owns a dog!
