Better Way Dogs

Chloe and her team have been so helpful with our fearful puppy. Her methods helped him (and us) build confidence! And overcome his fearfulness into a happy and playful pup. When we first adopted Raffi I was at a loss about what to do - he barked constantly when people were over and even snapped at them. I got Better Way Dogs info at the pet store and was so happy with the approach and affordability. When Chloe first stated with Raffi he could hardly be in the same room as her and last week we all went on a walk with her dog. So he’s conquered meeting new people and new dogs. Chloe was easy to work with, friendly and profession. 10/10 recommend.

Better Way Dogs (and specifically our trainer, Chloe) is absolutely incredible, and I’d recommend that anyone looking for help with their pup reach out! Chloe is thoughtful and educated in her approach to working with both animals and humans. My dog is reactive, and I worried other training styles would make things worse instead of better, but Chloe’s use of positive reinforcement and teaching new ways for us to communicate and be responsive to each other was a perfect fit. She’s far less reactive to other dogs and noises, seems more relaxed in her day-to-day, and our bond in stressful situations is much stronger now that I know how to read and respond to her needs. We’ve also got a routine for visitors now, and she’s finally able to enjoy + trust people in our home. We still have a lot of work to do to maintain and keep lessening reactivity, but we both feel more confident than ever and finally have the skills + plan to do so. The group offering has been a big boost too, and I’m excited to keep learning new things along the way. A big thank you to Better Way Dogs for being a partner in our growth, creating community for reactive dog parents (it can be isolating), and helping us both find more confidence and calm!

Better Way Dogs is a godsend! My 80-pound Goldendoodle wouldn’t go down the basement stairs, a necessity with all the tornado warnings we have had this spring. Chloe spent time getting to know Huckleberry and checked out the stairs and basement. Then she had him down the stairs in 20 minutes. He was scared but with positive reinforcement, high-value treats and thinking like a dog she helped him get there. Up the stairs was also hard and took a while. It’s one week later and we have been using the stairs daily to keep reinforcing it. He is very comfortable now. This is a huge blessing and something I could not accomplish on my own! My veterinarian recommended Better Way Dogs, and I’m glad they did. Chloe and Destin, the trainer who Chloe assigned to our case, showed a genuine commitment to helping us manage and improve our dog’s anxious and reactive behavior. Destin was patient, punctual and knowledgeable. Destin communicates well; he continually observed and assessed our dog’s progress and tailored his sessions towards addressing our particular needs. We always looked forward to our training sessions with Destin. Before our involvement with Better Way Dogs, I had expected canine behavioral training came with firm dictates (e.g., “must do this, don’t do that”). Instead, we came away with a far greater understanding of how to read, respect and reward our dog that has made life better for all of us. It’s been a great experience.
