Beyond the Dog, LLC

I hired Beyond the Dog as a last resort for my rescued pitbull. He has aggression problems and had started attacking one of my other dogs. He also was very uncomfortable with strangers in our house, to the point that we were wary of having people over. I was specifically looking for training for aggressive dogs. I have tried many other types of training but it was not what was going to work, they were more dog obedience vs aggressive dog training like Beyond the Dog. Shyenne was our trainer, and what can I even say? She came in, knowledgeable, confident, and kind and understanding. Over several weeks of in home training, we began to have hope we would be safe having Frito stay in our home. It changed our lives because now we can keep our beloved dog in our home with a plan on how to keep our other dogs and guests safe. When before we had no ideas or other options, Shyenne came in and gave me a plan, the tools i needed, and the confidence in myself to follow through once the training was done. If I ever need any kind of training it all, it would only be with Beyong the Dog. All of the other training programs never worked at all. Thank you sweet Shyenne! We love you!!

Shyenne has been amazing with Bonnie! Before we started training, Bonnie was constantly pulling on the leash and completely obsessed with chasing lizards, which made walks pretty chaotic. After just a month of sessions with Shyenne, the difference is incredible. Bonnie is now walking calmly right by my side and is so much more focused and manageable on walks. Shyenne is patient, knowledgeable, and clearly understands how to work with each dog’s personality. We are so impressed with the progress Bonnie has made and couldn’t recommend Shyenne more!

When we adopted Ellie, she had been abandoned after being hit by a car. She is the sweetest, funniest dog, but she also came with some significant behavioral challenges. We struggled with barking, reactivity, lunging, and after she bit someone, we knew she needed more help than we could provide on our own. After a lot of research, Beyond the Dog stood out because of their philosophy. I loved their relationship-based approach and their focus on understanding dog psychology rather than relying on fear or pain. My husband and I both work full time and have an almost two-year-old, so we made the difficult decision to send Ellie from Houston to Florida for their Board & Train program. From my first conversations with Alexis and Allison to watching Sean pick Ellie up, I felt confident she was in the right hands. Dogs know dog people, and Ellie knew. When Ellie came home, she was still the same goofy, loving dog we adored, but now she had the skills to thrive. Walks are enjoyable instead of stressful, and she can safely be part of our daily life with a young child. The transfer training was just as important as the board and train itself and gave us the confidence to continue her progress at home. Meeting Shelby, Ellie’s trainer in Florida, was the moment everything came full circle. Seeing the bond they had built and hearing about their walks, coffee runs, and time spent together made it obvious that Ellie wasn’t just trained—she was genuinely loved. I’m incredibly grateful to Sean, Shelby, Alexis, Allison, and everyone at Beyond the Dog. I truly believe that when you adopt a dog, you commit to them for life, and Beyond the Dog gave us the tools to honor that commitment. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Shyenne McCowan is definitely a very excellent dog trainer. She solved all the problems my dog Sweetie has. My dog used to be reactive to vacuum cleaner, microwave and hair dryer. After this training class, she is pretty relaxed with all those items now. The most important thing is that Sweetie can walk by my side and follow my steps during current dog walkings. She taught me a lot of methods to train my dog and they are all very useful for me. I really love her and we have built a good relationship during the last two months. I really recommend her for the professional ability and the kind attitude.
